Can't argue with free games, but it'd be nice if you could buy the games individually for £1.99 or something. I only want Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but I'm not paying £12.

Enjoyable game but not paying anything for that so good job it's free. If all the other games look thay small I wouldn't buy anything for it.

There are multiple display options including full screen, you can rotate the screen also to vertical for the shooters like 1943 and stand the screen on it side, nice way to play with the screen filters on

Pay per game basically for the normal pricing? Retroarch and mame are extremely popular because free. If Nintendo sell a really good quality performing emulator (with a great UI) and regularly release ROM packs or even charge something like a few quid for a bunch of ROMs to legally own it would surely be a smash.
  9. Paidy81's avatar
My only concern with this is that these will be the Arcade ROMs that they're supplying. Just remember that back in the day the whole purpose of these machines was to get as much money as possible so some of the ports may be a bit unfair, so expect a lot of challenge! Unless they've added a difficulty setting (that works!) of course.

I'm only saying this from my experience with the Street Fighter collection that is on switch - SFII (and most other games) are VERY VERY hard against the computer player. The game reads your inputs and always knows what you're going to do next, also computer players don't have to 'charge' attacks, like Blanka can just cannonball you from walking forward which any non CPU cannot do! Even on the easiest difficulty settings (I don't even think the difficulty settings work on the game, I certainly saw no difference). You need to put in a lot of time to get even remotely good at it. Maybe they'll address this in these ports?

Good deal and voted hot on that basis but just make sure you know what you might be walking into! There'll be no 'handholding' on a lot of these games and they may be slightly frustrating to say the least!

Many moons ago when I was in secondary school, I would save up my lunch money to go to the fish &chip shop after school which had two arcade games, 1943 and Outrun. I would make my 5x 10p last as long as I possibly could. I loved it.

Game nostalgia is often the very best gaming there is. Always makes me chuckle when people say the opposite. Games about the game and the challenge.

I love modern games but still so many great “old” games.

Streetfighter collection on switch apparently came with difficulty adjust too, but I'm convinced it was just a dummy input because it doesn't seem to reduce the difficulty much! Goodness knows what putting it to the hardest setting would do - GOD mode I think!

Maybe with rewind, speed and difficulty level adjustment I might finish Ghosts & Goblins for the first time ever! Even on home console that game was as tough as nails. Although having just recently finished Super Ghouls & Ghosts on SNES maybe now's the time!

That was part of my point. It could *and arguably* IMO should be once package, and a cart option would be nice. Its a bit of shame the amount of average games that have pointless tat too... these retro collections like Sega, Namco, Capcom should have some decent tat and collectability attached to them. That's just me though.

Mame isn't always a great emulation experience. And with nostalgia, that means everything.

Nintendo doesn't always make smart decisions but it isn't smart to call Nintendo dumb for Capcom pricing decisions (Even though it's ultra cool to blame Nintendo for third party pricing decisions) (edited)
