Can this be put in an enclosure and used to store family pix?

For long term storage it's better to use an external HDD. Otherwise yes.

SSDs are getting so cheap now.
I went and bought one of Samsung's first consumer SSD's. For £120 I got 128gb!

in 2010 I got a 120GB OCZ ssd for £200 and it only had speeds of 270MB/s!

Given the lower price for more speed, are you better off chucking one of these in an enclosure over using the one below if your intention is to use it as a TV media playing device?

I would by the m.2 and enclosure. Why pay more for slower? Plus you can alway swap different drives into the enclosure.

Wouldn't the "Crucial P3 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4" be better for a few pounds more and coming from the UK, unless I'm missing something?

Same drive, same seller. Might as well get it from Germany and save some money. (edited)

Oh come on people, why are you voting this hot?
Not only is it a sub par DRAM-less QLC NAND drive with performance that drops off a cliff quickly, it's not even from a UK seller.

For £2 more you can get a TLC NAND drive with DRAM, from Amazon UK -

What are Kioxia like? Never heard of them. I’m looking at doing a new build, maybe a manufacturer worth considering?
