Aldi should market this better, it does so much more than cooking pizzas and when you look at similar sized ones you'll pay 2 or 3 times this price easily.

It's cooking area is 75 x 65 cm over 5000 cm² cooking area compare that to a Kamado Joe which has 622 cm² (single grill) or 1290 cm² (Expander Grill) granted they both offer different styles of cooking, but wood fired cooking is a brilliant way to cook meals and they taste great.

People keep saying it was £299. Was this for the king-size one.

It was this one and it was £309 Delivered in October, but most people don't cook through the winter, it maybe £60 more at the moment, but you could have 7 months of outdoor cooking if bought now, rather than waiting it for to drop again if at all in October/November

I'm tempted as I already have an ooni fyra which I would sell.

There is also a Facebook group here I jointed a while ago, for this pizza oven, when I was tempted at 300 quid around Christmas.

Horrible reviews on delivery and after sales by Aldi which is quite suprising.
Also someone mentioned its hard to keep the heat in without putting door in. I think because its got really thin insulation.?

Foo.bar, this oven is designed to keep the fire lit, I have a tradional clay wood fired oven and the clay acts as a heat store so can maintain temp longer. I bought this one a couple of years ago and am so pleased with it, with the clay ones you have to light them 2 or 3 hours ahead of time, this one it can be ready to cook in 20 to 30 mins, You do have to push the fire to left or right and keep feeding it to keep the temp up. I hardly every use the door, I also keep a small battery (usb rechargeable) fan nearby as if it's a really still night you may need more of a draught to really get the heat up (you are looking for over 300 C really).
I can thoroughly reccomend this oven, do read the instructions on building paying exra attention to where the castors go on the legs, it's designed to roll sideways not front and back.
I also have an unni oven (yep I love wood fired pizza) but haven't used it since getting this, this one can fit two or 3 decent size pizza's in at once taking 2 to 3 mins per pizza vs the Unni which is 1x pizza cooking in about 90 seconds so this one is far less frantic imho.

If it does struggle to retain the heat, is there a work around other than keeping the door in place.

I bought one in 2020 for £500+ off Aldi and it's a great piece of kit. Worth the money, we used it every week during the summer.

How long is the code valid for?
    Rob1st's avatar
    another week max

Mine was delivered today. Took an hour to put together and looks really good. Delivery service was poor, they dragged it down my driveway and the box was quite battered but amazingly everything was OK. Can't believe they don't protect and secure the fire bricks

Ooni will be sold and look forward to firing it up. Would quite happily pay more, seems a bargain at this price.

I was so close to buying this but the reviews about bad build quality are worrying. Especially the lining flaking off into food 🤢
