Reserving a game in store is free to collect [Click and reserve]. It only costs money if you click and collect i.e. getting it sent to a store of your choice from the website in the post.
Not actually tried it myself, but I think there's a place to pop you post code in under the price which lets you check for stock nearby. You can then request for this to be put aside and they should send you a confirmation once it's been put aside in store.
