    I never say no to a set of free comics.

    Here's a hint to anybody who wants more of this kind of stuff for free.

    Just type, "free comic book day" on Amazon and there are literally loads that are free..... I sort of lost the will to live by the time I downloaded my 30th comic

    When comixology worked as a stand-alone site I grabbed 900 free non comic book day comics thats not including the free full graphic novels they gave away during covid. Then they messed it all up and took away that site and merged into Amazon.

    Comic books are the canary in the coal mine for the possible future of retail: slowly but surely Comixology was allowed to eat up the market and we were told not to worry even as publishers like Image and IDW shut up their own storefronts, all for Amazon to swoop in, buy the whole thing and now it's worse service, higher prices, fewer great sales and no alternative aside from the odd Humblebundle.

    Good find, and probably a better shout than visiting your comic book store: both the UK retailers (small, independents) I know find FCBD a pain as they're a money loser, as most people don't buy anything else and the suppliers charge for the shipping or only offer the comics as part of incentives for ordering other product.

    To be fair Apple and Google offer alternatives with equally terrible shopping experiences and they started undercutting Amazon when they shut Comixology down as a standalone site.
