Done it, it's a shame they don't train their staff to use the app though.

They push it online and via social media then don't bother to show their staff how it works. Once I used it and was treated like a nuisance by the old biddy in there. It's 2016 love not 1916 I don't carry thruppeny bits around anymore!

Good way of them boosting their balance sheet with £200k !
These apps and wallets are just ways of the firm acting like a bank and taking "deposits" from customers for them to bolster their finances. Starbucks is the same, they make in excess of £200m a year (yes million) from investing/gambling the money people load onto their Starbucks wallets..... very clever.

Isn't this a freebie, rather than a deal? What's the difference if not?

You still need to add £5 to get this, so not freebie.

I sent Greggs a Tweet when the reward hadn't appeared after 4 hours and they just added it manually for me

In fairness any hot fast food is cooked on site, the contents of Greggs are not cooked.

Greggs is all made on site for filled rolls/sandwiches, they simply order boxes of the fillings and salad in.

Only works with the app, no physical cards AFAIK.

If you don't have an Android or Apple smartphone you could borrow someone else's, sign up and top up in the app on their device and make a note of the 8 digit code then you just tell the cashier at Greggs you want to pay with your Greggs Rewards number.

Oh, just looked on their website - It looks as though you can topup and print off the QR code from their website, so no need for the app.

Where does it actually mention this promotion though ? - Did you get it as an email ?

    Thanks

The toggles are only relevant if you're getting the item that the offer is for but don't want to use the voucher. If you're buying a coffee but want to pay (???) then you can turn it off but if you're not buying coffee then you can leave it on.
    I think. =)

Used it today and was greeted with another clueless member of staff this time shouting "Jean, can you come and help me someone's using that bloody stupid app again".

Tempted to complain to head office as I'm sure they'd love to hear how their staff are embracing their new initiative.

TBF this happens a lot of the time when I use the app as well so I don't know why you're being sarky. I love the app though, when it doesn't work they give me my stuff for free - it's happened loads of times.

does this work on hot sandwiches too?

Why are you asking when the terms and conditions are at the top of the page and are very clear to me.
