Heat
I know the 110 can connect to heart rate monitor but that doesnt interest me. The main issue I can see with this is that it only displays 2 measurements at the same time, while I'd like 3 (pace, time, distance). The 110 is also a couple of years older which makes me wonder.
...I just wish Tesco sold the 910XT

I just bought this! Had a £20 gift card for tesco to use, was going to get it from John Lewis so glad I spotted this deal! The forerunner10 allows you to set a target pace, which for myself is really good for training and racing when following a training program, not sure whether the 110 allows this. But all the running blogs I read said great things about the 10, the only downside that the gps battery life isn't as good as the other garmins, however this shouldn't be an issue if you have it fully charged and are running less than 4 hours.
Not with the code listed above. I know, I tried.
I do this at the minute. Phones are bulkier and heavier. You also have to either listen to your status with headphones (which are banned in my next marathon), or go through the hassle of waking your screen then entering your lock code to see it visually.

Safety Camera Warning No
That's a deal breaker for me
Yes, certainly can.
Sorry but I'd spend the extra and go for this!
Garmin 410
Might be best to get a cycle specific one, I've got the Edge 500, fantastic bit of kit, around £130 if you hunt around and yes Garmin Coinnect is great.

It does. The review linked above covers that.
I used Mapmyrun on my iPhone before, which is great, but this is much better in rural areas where phone reception gets sketchy at best. Me and the Mrs have run routes using one each, and the phone has lost track of us completely.
Live tracking of your speed alone is one of the most useful features you can have available at a glance.
I'm interested to know this too.
FWIW on balance I'd push people to consider finding a 310xt if they are serious about running. They're cheap and have many more options - most importantly up to 4 display fields.
However if this is what you want it's a good deal.
thanks for the info. I Just need to find the best deal now! :0)
Unfortunately I still can't decide between this and the 110. While the display on this only has 2 readouts, a button press will display a second batch of 2 readouts, so catering for all the information i require. However this is a little less attractive than the 110 so I wouldnt want to wear it casually. But then the 110 only has IPX7 water resistance whereas this is good to 50m. The 10 has virtual pacer in its favour but then a shorter battery life for training.
Unggh.
Yup, true, (I've got the Edge 500 too) but the Edge 500 is quite a bit more expensive so unless you're a pretty serious cyclist, this will get you started nicely - especially if you do some running as well :).
One thing that GPS watches are great for is monitoring your pace. When I was running without the instant feedback from my watch I would usually start far too quickly and tire early which led to a brutal slog for the later miles. With a GPS watch I can pace myself and more comfortably run longer distances at a more even pace.
The ability to upload the statistics to various different websites is also nice.
If you are looking for any of the 310xt features might be worth waiting for the Garmin 410 to come back down in price. It was about £130 a month or two back.

It may be overkill if you are just timing and tracking runs, but the extra features are nice. Virtual Partner, live speed updates (for cycling) and the ability to edit the display settings were the factors that made me upgrade from the 110. The 410 has an incredibly fiddly touch bezel, but after the initial configuration you don't need to use it much, and it can be locked while on a run.
You can drag the files in to my.asics.co.uk too.
I've heard this argument against the FR10. Personally, I have overall time and current pace on 1 page and overall distance and current pace again on page 2, which suits me fine. It flashes your "lap" time at every mile, km etc (depending on how you have your preferences set up).
I do think it would benefit from auto-cycling through the two pages, but it's not like I constantly need to know how far I've run.
You know I ended up spending more time than I should have assessing the type of garmin i really needed, and almost convinced myself that budgeting for a 610 was acceptable. Then I had a reality check.
The 410 was almost an option - I found a refurbished one for £99 minus the HRM - but in the end the touch bezel is really putting me off. If it doesnt need as much adjustment after initial setup then I might go for it.
