sorted byLimitations are PCIe 4.0 only, doesn't really matter as PCIe 5.0 is overkill currently.
Very limited next gen USB only two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10Gb) and no 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports (20Gb)
Only one PCIe expansion port once you have fitted a GPU. So extremely limited PCIe expansion options. Stick a WIFI6/6e or 7 card in that slot and you're completely out of expansion options.
It is a budget way of getting in to AM5 the spec is pretty limiting so hopefully apart from CPU you don't want to expand the system too much. At £177 it's a total rip off at £141 it's B550 AM4 spec for an AM5 tax. You get £90 I/O features and the rest is "AM5 tax" to get on the AM5 platform to access AM5 CPUs and DDR5.
Horrible pricing but that is the way of the world currently but this is cheap based on other options to get on AM5
I'd also look at CPU upgrade options on AM4 which are 5700/5700X, 5800X, 5800X3D, 5900X and 5950X there's some decent deals on those CPUs currently so if you need more compute you still have options on AM4 which is much cheaper than upgrading to AM5!
I have an MSI Mortar Max and I will upgrade to 5900X or 5950X whichever I can get a good deal on in the future. AM5 is just offering high clock speeds and some CCD Hybrid X3D options. Not bad but if you're already on AM4 with 3600 I would advise looking at 5xxxx series CPUs to upgrade with. If you need better I/O then you need X670 really if you're sticking with AMD. (edited)
