Not really. These are broken. The CACHE doesn't work on them after a short while as it doesn't clear itself.

Here's a heatsink for anyone that needs one -

I own that NVMe heatsink, and after some testing I found the following two potential problems.

    1) It is too tall to fit underneath my graphics card. It stops the GPU from sitting low enough in the PCIe slot to engage the PCIe clip.

    2) It is too wide to use several of them next to each other. The screws on the side stick out just enough to foul the other M.2 slot space.

The Thermalright fits fine in the primary slot and the fourth m.2 slot furthest from the GPU. This is in Intel Z690 with Sapphire RX 6700 XT.

you have multiple disks? likely your boot record is stored on some other disk and its making reference to your old drive.

first check the obvious stuff though, like have you made sure to boot from your new drive in the bios? in terms of boot priority

Will this run cooler than wd sn850x 2tb?
The WD drive approaches an uncomfortable 60°C in my nvme gen 4 slot.
I am not bothered about speed penalty, gen 3 nvme drives are fast enough for me.

yes it will, because it performs worse than your current.

additionally you shouldn't care about it running hot. NAND prefers to stay warm, it running cool will reduce longevity.

It'll thermal throttle around 85c, if you want to reduce that 60c though you can buy a heatsink for it. make sure you get one with screws though, not that terrible one which uses a plastic band (the band breaks i made this mistake already)

It was cheaper last time but good price, I recommend Ugreen 2023 upgraded enclosure with heatstink included from Amazon or cheaper from aliexpress

This is pretty much terrible for the price. The only reason anyone would buy it is for the Samsung name.

I wouldn't call it 'terrible', there aren't many other drives with DRAM at this price and the SSD price crash has stalled at the moment.

There have been better deals (like the ADATA S70 Blade for £90), but most are either OOS or the price has gone back up a bit. (edited)
