  • The brains behind Pixel 6a. Google Tensor makes Pixel 6a super smart, secure and powerful. It's the first chip designed by Google just for Pixel.
  • The battery that follows your lead. Google Pixel's Adaptive Battery can last over 24 hours. It learns your favourite apps, so it doesn't waste power on the ones that you rarely use.
  • A camera that lets you express yourself.. Make faces look sharper with Face Unblur, take beautifully accurate photos of different skin tones with Real Tone and remove unwanted objects with Magic Eraser.
  • Google Tensor helps you get things done fast. Google Tensor makes Google Pixel 6a fast and responsive. Apps launch fast, pages and images load quickly, and everything runs smoothly
  • Pixel charges fast. Really fast..When you plug in your Google Pixel, it charges fast. With just a few minutes of charging, your phone gets hours of power.

Powered by Google Tensor for fast performance.
Adaptive Battery can last over 24 hours.
Intelligent photography for truly amazing shots.
Highly-rated security, plus water resistance.
Designed around you, inside and out.
1 Compared to RRP of Pixel 6. 2 Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby and use of other features. Average battery life during testing was approximately 29 hours. Battery life depends upon many factors and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Battery testing conducted in California in early 2022 on pre-production hardware and software, using default settings. Battery testing conducted using Sub-6 GHz non-standalone 5G (ENDC) connectivity. Actual battery life may be lower. Wired charging rates up to 18W based on use of Google 30W USB-C® or Google 18W USB-C® Charger plugged into a wall outlet. Actual results may be slower. Adapters sold separately. Compatible with USB PD 3.0 PPS adapters. 3 Designed to comply with dust and water protection rating IP67 under IEC standard 60529 when each device leaves the factory, but the device is not water or dust proof. The accessories are not water or dust resistant. Water resistance and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and will diminish or be lost over time due to normal wear and tear, device repair, disassembly or damage. Dropping your device may result in loss of water/dust resistance. Liquid damage voids the warranty. See g.co/pix…ter (g.co/pixel/water) for details.

    opted out of BVB online.

Then went on livechat to remove my card details to avoid auto topup.

Taranpreet: Thank you for your kind patience,
do you want to remove the card details from the accountregistrered with the number ending 007, so that no automatic payment will betaken

    B Johnson: Yes please.

Taranpreet: Sure, please allow me a minute

Taranpreet: Thank you for waiting, I have removed the carddetails from the account , and no automatic payment will be taken

B Johnson: Thanks for your help. Have a nice day. (edited)

Thanks for this. I have also done the same. It's a bit sneaky of VF to keep our card details to be used as a top up even though I had opted out of saving the card.

I bought a Pixel 6a using the Currys trade in deal before Christmas. I've found it great to use so far, the camera is very good and I haven't had the fingerprint sensor issues that others have experienced. Battery tends to last a day and a half, sometimes two. The signal does occasionally drop (I'm on EE) but it's not been a massive problem. I'd recommend it, especially if you're upgrading from something that's normally in this price range or less (I had a Moto G8 Plus before).

Just to note that any unwanted PAYG credit could be spent on Google Play/Microsoft Store or used for charitable donations.

    AUTO-TOPUP - important update!

For those of us wishing to avoid this happening:

According to Adita on Vodafone chat, it is not enough to simply opt out of our plan to avoid auto-topup. According to Adita the card details we used at time of purchase WILL be used to auto-topup unless we cancel them. I think it is the "30 day rolling renewal" clause which is the giveaway. Fortunately to avoid any embarrassment this can be done easily via Vodafone Chat as I have just done so. Secondarily it is up to us whether or not we wish to keep our BVB or opt out and go onto their Plan 1 PAYG but I think most of wanted to make ABS that we didn't pay any more ie it was only the phone we really wanted!

Regards to MrSwitch for posting this fantastic deal and to Crossbow for prompting me to look into this further.

So for the Oldies like me, we go onto the Vodaphone chat and cancell the auto top up and payg? and just have the contract terminated?

decent price but the battery life on these is absolutely shocking.

I grabbed one on the 14 a month three offer, l managed to cope a week but getting to 3% before the school run was enough for me. was just outside of the 14 days returns due to a mess up with my pac codes of theyd have gone back.

looks like I'm gonna have to wait a little before trying to sell them now

went back to my p30 Pro, charges ridiculously faster and the cabled charging on the p6a is barely any faster than the wireless charging on most phones.

if you're anythign other than a light user I'd steer well clear
    phoni's avatar
    phoni
Yes, p30 pro cannot be upgraded. Mine is over 3 years old and still going.
I slightly prefer photo processing on pixels but everything else is better on p30 pro. No point upgrading one thing and downgrading five others.

Do you need to cancel the SIM? Because it says to top up each month to continue and if you don't then it returns to normal pricing.

When you receive the phone, create a Vodafone account. Within your account it's easy enough to opt out of the £10 monthly recurring payments you originally signed up to by buying this package.
Cancelling won't get your £10 refunded, so definitely worth using it up in ways suggested in the links below or donating it instead...
    hotukdeals.com/com…117
    hotukdeals.com/com…167
In short: if you cancel the SIM, you lose the £10 as well - only Vodafone gains! Do opt out of the recurring payments though.

KEEP in MIND: if you activate the SIM, it might get absorbed into the data plan, so you might be left with nothing in credit to pay for other stuff or donate. You can still use the SIM as normal though for a month (edited)

Update - Bundle cancellation can be done via the chat itself. Don't have to call. The advisor can remove the card details too. Prevents any auto top up or auto renewal.

    Thanks OP Received my order.

Went online and created the account (Vodafone sends you the user ID & password in their email) & opted out of the bundle. Contacted CS via chat but they could not refund or cancel the bundle and advised to ring them. Spoke to CS who said the money can't be refunded / or be used for mobile billing (only monthly pay sim gets this). He removed the bundle and £10 would be on the account as a top up to use in future.

Any one receiving the device today please call either today and max by morning. Only if you call with 48 hours they could cancel the bundle.

    Hope this helps. (edited)

People will moan saying that the Pixel 6a only has a 60Hz refresh rate display, no wireless charging etc. and you could pick up a Xiaomi or Poco phone for same price or cheaper with those features. True, but the main pull for the Pixel is the future Android OS updates and timely security updates. Good luck with Xiaomi or Poco when they're churning out handset after handset that they need to support.

Camera on the 6a is also leaps and bounds above anything for this price.

Recently bought a like new refurbished one of these from John Lewis for £170.

It's a great phone apart from the crappy fingerprint reader. One minute it works and the next it has completely forgotten my fingerprints.

Loads of complaints about that online but hopefully they can fix it in a update.

    Ordered.

Seen a few differing views so, to clarify....

My order says I have bought a £10 data bundle and my monthly charges will be £0.

I have no intention.. unless necessary.. of even putting the vodafone sim in the phone.

Am I correct in assuming this, and that at the end of my month (although if I never put the sim in.. will the month even start?) my bundle will just end and vodafone will not try to take any more money from my credit card ? (edited)

I had the same question so spoke to their online chat. You may (which means you probably will) be set up on their automatic repayment plan so if you do nothing with the sim, you will likely to be charged for a second month. They said when you get your new phone, put your new sim into the phone and dial 2345 to cancel it. i believe you can also stop automatic repayment on the vodafone app. I think this is correct. I've seen a few comments suggesting you can just bin the sim but don't think this is right.

Poco F3 have bigger screen, 120hz refresh rate and slightly faster charging speed, it's heavier and the photo quality not as good as pixel. But if you play mobile games go for Poco, snapdragon 870 is way better than tensor in terms of power efficiency and gaming performance.

The trouble is depending how far you have to zoom pretty much all phones will produce a grainy image as digital zooms are just crap, the 6a is a capable camera but struggles with even 4x zoom as it lacks any optical zoom and relies on digital

If this is a glitch (like they had for the ZTE 5G router last year) , VodaCON will have to hire extra staff to deal with all the cancellation requests for the monthly SIM. Assuming they have supplies AND send out the orders.

And if they are honourable, maybe they should suppply Pixel 7 ( ) instead of the 6A and fulfil their obligations after taking the orders. Google is not gonna complain IF Voda take it on the chin!
    Par79's avatar
    Par79
Why is there any need to request a cancellation of the SIM ? We haven't signed up to a monthly £10 contract, read the "Thank you for your order" confirmation email and you'll see the £10 was a one off with no monthly £10 charge commitment. This was PAYG with us having to buy a £10 bundle. You don't need to do anything with the SIM. If you do put it in the phone and activate it then if you do nothing else then the next months bundle won't be bought as you won't have any credit on your PAYG account. The bundle will then be cancelled after 7 days. This is all in the guidance online regarding the bundles. Personally I'll be doing nothing with the SIM. (edited)

got my order in, and used Paypal pay in 3 ( and first payment has been taken). Used to work for Voda, and unless Google doesn't want to release the stock, you should be ok if you put your order in.

Its more hassle to not follow through on orders, than to peeve off folks (thats the Head Office thinking, especially over promo's like this...VF deals in millions and billions of £).

The only prob will be if Google can't release stock in the near future....then it becomes easier to cancel, as the cost of dealing with customer q's on where's my item start to rack up.
