I’ve been scouring the net for deals on Garmin watches and noted the large black version has had a price cut (other colours are dearer). Seems a good watch for the price, albeit not the latest model. Hopefully good for runners particularly.

Guess you were one of those who purchased for £8…

I was fortunately. I do wear a 45 though and pleased with the watch. Think I paid £90 for that at the time, and it seems to regularly drop to around £100 if not in a rush to buy.

This was my first Garmin and I still wear it everyday. Zero issues and a great watch tbh for the price 🏼

I was gutted to miss out on the 245 for £118 a week ago, so I’m still waiting

There is lots of them on Facebook/eBay for under 120. You will get same new watch and ask for Amazon gift invoice for a warranty

Just noticed the black and white (and small in iris) are £109 on Currys, with the ability to spread the cost over three months if it helps anyone.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a metal mesh band for these. Yes I was one of the lucky ones who got it for £8 but the strap has brought me out in a rash. I've no issues with my Fossil Mesh straps, but they dont do them in the 40mm size.

Yes but there isn't an official mounting system for it so it'll be on your wrist which isn't ideal.

Thank you, would anyone suggest a one that does have a mount/is good for cycling (particularly mountain biking) please?

I'd get this garmin edge 130 plus from cex which is basically brand new if you don't need a watch, great for mountain biking and because cex don't know what they're selling half the time, you might even get the mountain bike bundle.

You can mount it on a bike with one of these wiggle.co.uk/garmin-wristwatch-bike-mount?lang=en&curr=GBP&dest=1&sku=5360309148&utm_source=google&utm_term=&utm_campaign=&utm_medium=base&gclid=CjwKCAiAh_GNBhAHEiwAjOh3ZLVc_gqwW0GmhRaeIQHh2hB_u1F8DvHbDrp-NXfvh8B6gnvPTcGR5RoCZqsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I mount my 945 with this but I'm more a runner so it doesn't tend to be very often. If I was serious about cycling I'd probably get an edge, mainly because the watch face is so small and difficult to read compared to an edge. (edited)

Or just use some pipe lagging. Easy to take on and off as well. And cheap!! (edited)
