I don't know how to use tools such as these properly, but when I saw this deal I got strangely excited. It must be a primal male instinct. I can't work out why but I want to buy this. The words Chrome vanadium steel are bringing a sweat to my brow just pondering the mere thought of gripping one of these shiny tools in my hands. Do you think I will get arrested for kicking in the doors of Halfords at this time of night?

Fool, I`m a service engineer working on various ships and you would be surprised how frequent the imperial sizes are required. Sigh kids these days!.

I think you can also reserve online and then pay online price in store when collecting. Could be wrong.
I ordered one of these (smaller box) last week, good quality.

A lot of people have classic cars/bikes and therefore need imperial tools. Not every deal will meet everyones requirements, but a deal is a deal, if it does not meet your particular needs don't vote it cold just for that.

    Remember quidco too.
I presume there's no trade discount on top of this thanks to the "online only" thing?

After my socket set disappeared and being a bit broke, I've ordered myself one of these:
    ebay.co.uk/itm…385
Which I think is a much better selection than the Halfords set.
The imperial stuff always annoys me.

However, I could do with tools before it arrives, so tempted by the Halfords set - then hopefully not lose out selling on ebay after, or if I have money at that point, keep it as a car/house set (though I know it'll frustrate me with the limited range of sizes).

Also - scan/picture your receipt, stick it in drop box/drive etc.
Then I normally try and find somewhere on the case to fold it up and stick the original or a printout.

Yep, that's in the guarantee. Doesn't cover ratchet mechanism in the ratchets and spanners. You can get a repair kit for the ratchets, not sure about the spanners though:

Which Bahco set? If you're not in a desperate hurry I'd hold out for the Bahco - on the basis that my Halfords tools work and haven't broken I can't really say they're worse than stuff from Britool/Bahco/Facom etc. but I do find I prefer the non Halfords stuff. I wouldn't spend a lot more to have the non Halfords stuff but I've got a Halfords and a Bahco 3/8" set and it's the Bahco that I tend to use.

Tried. Cannot find any bona fida. These are DIY, make no mistake. It does … Tried. Cannot find any bona fida. These are DIY, make no mistake. It does not detract from the OP as they serve a purpose. I have bought one 2day.

Of course they're DIY toolkits, they came from a high street shop but are about the best you can buy for the money they cost.
Not that it makes any difference once you get above cheap spanners that break/rust, they do the same job but you don't have a "badge" on them to boast about down the pub to your mates. Pro's buy their tools elsewhere, but they undo a nut the same as any of these do and the bonus is I didn't pay £50 for probably one ratchet handle and have to wait for some bloke in a van to turn up before I can replace it. Frankly having had the tools from these and the Draper Pro range and tackling all manner of jobs - a lot beyond minor DIY like changing a few brake pads or removing a wheel - suspension replacement, changing out ARBs, clutch removal on my bike, full brake upgrades, full interior strip, exhausts, manifolds, carb removal and rebuild etc. there's nothing that they don't do that a Mac/Snap-on would.
A Snap-on spanner doesn't make you a pro, but saying that there are plenty of crap mechanics up and down the country using them who still can't sort a car.

These tools are a good deal though i think the 150 piece sets which are often also on offer are better value, i have two of those and the quality is excellent for the price. Definitely consider either ordering online though or at least scanning your receipt as printed receipts don't last very long (the thermal printing that i seem to remember they use often fades to nothing after a few years). Not all stores seem to ask for proof of purchase (yet) bit would be very annoying to not have it if you needed it, and i think they are generally tightening up on the warranty service.

I still have the receipt for a tool set that I bought in about 1980! Keep it in the box.
In the good old days the boxes were metal.
I hate to think what would happen to this lot if it were accidentally dropped on the floor.

Perfect for me and my series 3 Land Rover which has a mixture of imperial and metric bolts. Heat added reserved to collect later today.....

Why would you need a receipt if you it is halfords own brand and has a lifetime guarantee ?

Its not like you bought them from elsewhere is it

A bit like Go Outdoors price promise, if you find it cheaper elsewhere we will refund you 10%, its their own products that only them sell LOL

    Anyway, good deal
