As a pro decorator 20yr. Yes it is cheap for Dulux colours. However... The vinyl content of retail Dulux matt nowadays is pretty low.. Grubby handprints etc soon show up isn't very durable. Dulux trade also do a cheaper trade paint called amstead. Good gear. Johnstone s trade centres pretty good also. Mix any paint for ya an dulux colour. Trade paints go approx 20% further and re quire fewer coats also.

Awesome price. Was about to go to B&Q - saved myself some money, will get a KFC with the spare money. I'm thinking Boneless Banquet?

This is very good. I normally get it when on a 3for2 at B&Q. £30 each. £60 for 3 making it £20 a pot. This is even better. I hope they have Natural Calico!!

Best to get Dulux trade as it covers much better than this stuff, This is watered down compared to Dulux Trade

Heat added, I grabbed a couple of 2.5ltr tins 2 weeks ago for £10 each and Wilkos and now they go and do this!

Will be returning and picking up the same thing for £5 less thanks.

Silly question, but can you buy Johnstone's trade paint at one of their trade centres if you're not a professional?

A customer I was working for recently bought the Dulux retail qd satinwood pb white. They said it was garbage. Thin and loads coats. They bought Johnston'es qd satinwood retail from b and m. Said was like night and day far superior. Johnstones £7 cheaper tin also.

Dulux Decorator centres are doing 30% off dulux trade masonry colours for the next 2 months from this Friday. fantastic paint, costs a bit more than standard retail but covers approx 30% further so you use less & far far superior finish

Rubbish paint, crown is so much better.
  30. smokedsausage's avatar
The crown retail white matt is pretty guff..I bought 6 t big tubs last summer when on offer at b n q. Like water and zero coverage. Struggle to use it. I've bought a few johnstones jonmat whites rather than use it! Superb by comparison

You do spread it on your wall though. You know, like paint.
If it's thin and watery, it's gonna take more than 1 coat, which means 5 litres isn't gonna go very far.

EDIT: And to people saying Crown is quality stuff: it really isn't. Dulux is supposed to be the quality brand. Crown is about as viscous as water. You need 2-3 coats.

I agree & that's why I will only work with Dulux Trade paint as 30% more coverage, sharper finish & great flow rate. I mostly only ever need one coat but I give it a 2nd when required but never have needed any more as the paint is so good
