Having roku permanently on the TV is just daft.
I really wish TV manufacturers would just make dumb TVs and let me decide what i want to have on it.
Well thats good of them to let us collect our item for free
I think you’ll find even if you spend double the money on a Panasonic, Sony, toshiba etc, that regardless of brand - any tv won’t respond well to being knocked.
Should do. Just checked rokus website. Said they've got the app on their ecosystem
I tested the 2.0 HDMI lead on another set and it worked fine, went through the settings with customer support and it would still only limit itself to 30hz.
Just wanted to flag it up to save you the hassle.
It does, check this other current post for this TV and the other sizes available, with many points raised and answered in the thread: hotukdeals.com/dea…406 (edited)
thats rokus business model so unlike tv OS where its a after thought, roku will make sure it works and good user experience.
Yer but that's not how it works though. Never has. Cos that wouldn't make business sense. New products, new features etc. Roku permanently on a TV isn't daft. Had Roku on my TV for years, since 2013. What's the issue? There ain't one. You can buy a “dumb“ TV. And sticks to plug in erm. Again, what's the issue? My TV is dumb and has a Roku Stick+ in it. Prior one was dumb and had Roku 3.. etc....
Yeah, the biggest drawback as I don't have an Aerial where mine is installed. Need a firestick aswell then
Hisense is owned by Hisense. They are a Chinese brand just like TCL and a few other new brands that have popped up recently. They are typically a really good deal, especially the ones that at made in-house. Unfortunately a few models are made under license by brands like UMC In Poland to a poorer quality and specification, and there is no easy way of telling which is which.
With that said, even if this happened to be a UMC built model I think I would still consider one purely for the Roku software built in. As long as the picture isn't terrible it would still be worthwhile. (I Saw the 43 Inch version switched on, on display at my local Argos Clearance Bargains store and the picture was absolutely fine, but it does have a VA Panel which means the screen is a little reflective, and the colors will appear washed out if viewing from an angle)
What do you find restrictive? There's more apps on Roku than LG. And you'll probably find they are supported for far longer here too before they stop updating them.
They had the 43" in stock so ended up getting that one for 249.99
Stop watching Pixelated Bukkake
Roku is better without a doubt, Android is known to be laggy. Why even bother with a TV with a good picture when the functionality isn't good. One of the best things about this TV is its ease of use
It depends where you will be positioned when viewing the TV. As has been commented before the Hisense has a VA panel so viewing angles will be narrower than the LG's IPS panel. But blacks / contrast will be 'slightly' better.
At the end of the day they are both low end models so you cannot expect miracles . The 50" Hisense does get positive reviews from a large number of sites though.
Both Roku and webOS probably have the most apps available compared to other manufacturers as well. I like both but don't have this Hisense TV though, using either Roku/Now TV sticks.
The LG model you mention comes with an additional 3 years warranty courtesy of John Lewis but unfortunately doesn't come with the magic remote.
Even better. I've Got a hisense 55 inch TV without Roku on it. Decent TV for the money i got it for.
Anybody whos thinking of getting one should. They'll be even better with the Roku built in, as the apps that come with a big standard and slow.
Yes it does I have this TV myself, some apps don't always work properly though, I always find myself watching Netflix through the firestick due to this
Hi,
Unfortunately no it wont as it wont have the recievers/be anywhere powerful enough.
I use Zwift too and either use Android phone which has ANT+ and stream to my 43 Roku hisense, or my lapop via hdmi.
43 inch is a great tv for the 250 I paid. Thoroughly recommend
Yes it does. I bought one of these last time they were £299. - About 6 weeks ago.
