Mmmm ok maybe I'd did not explain this well enough.

Your NORMALLY get 5% BONUS for every £20 added, which is £1 for every £20 (Thats 5% Bonus)

Iceland are now offering you £2 per £20 , that equates to 10%

Hopefully you see the logic in this?

    It's NOT 9% as £20 +( 9% (of £20) (£1.80)|) would be £21.80.

Remember you only got from (09/06/23 to 23/06/23 to spend the BONUS) And I'll refer back to the Christmas BONUS here, spend between those to dates then the money will be taken from the EXTRA bonus added FIRST, then from the rest of the BONUS card)

    Hope this help ;-)

    You're paying £20 for £22. It's 10% extra, but it's a 9.09% discount, which is why "9% off" is correct. (edited)

Discount percentages are calculated based on how much the goods cost when an offer is on versus when there is no offer.
Since you are simply loading £20 on your bonus card and get an additional £2, this in effect means you got a £22 top-up for £20 i.e. a discount of £2. This equates to 2/22 = 9.09%

Is my Maths right or wrong here?

    The usual bonus is 5% = £20 + £1 Bonus

    Now is 10% bonus = £20 + £2 Bonus

So why are they saying 9%?

Ok.. let me explain to you.
You go to a shop, the total bill is £22 but they will give 10% because of your loyal card, how much would you pay? It’s £19.8.
But in this Iceland case, you are paying £20 (about 9% off) not £19.80 (which is 10%)

The extra £1 bonus only lasts til the 23/06/23 and then removed so no good if you wanted to save til Christmas.

You only have to spend that £1, it's the first thing to be used. For Christmas savings you're better off waiting for the November offer (£15 extra with £100 last year).

Your basically paying £20 for a £22 voucher which is a 9% discount (edited)

Prices at Iceland you'll need 50% bonus just to get on parity with other supermarkets .. ridiculously overpriced store ... chillingly cold vote from me

    Really?..
I mean, They tend to be lumped with other "budget" stores and some stuff is more expensive, but I find plenty of stuff that's cheaper - sometimes it's cheaper by volume as the sizes are sometimes "bulky".

Neither great prices nor great choice.. I've stopped shopping with them as the only savings I could see was on rubbish food. Fed up of chips, pizzas and microwave stuff - otherwise quite expensive.

This is quite handy for me because my online supermarket rotation schedule has Iceland next up. I've topped up my bonus card with £40 because I tend to spend £40-£50 each time, which gets me free delivery too.

I'm not sure why a fair number of people are sniping about Iceland in this post - for essentials and chilled/frozen food, they're fine. Yes, they fall down if you want anything "unpopular", but I stock up on those with other supermarkets and I would never exclusively shop at Iceland, but as part of a supermarket rotation plan (I do that so I don't get bored buying the same thing every time), they're prefectly adequate.

I think the biggest thing wrong with Iceland deliveries is the truly awful horizonal opaque unbranded plastic bags they give you. If you don't hold the bag tightly from the handles, all the items fall out! They used to have large thick white vertical plastic bags with the Iceland logo on them that were vastly superior. I hate the horizontal bags (only good for putting rubbish in them and putting them in the bin [and even then stuff often falls out before I get to the bin]) and all the Iceland drivers I've spoken to hate them too. I agree though I only order online if they drop a code otherwise I struggle justifying spending more than essentials with them.

Everything branded on there tends to be more expensive otherwise it's on par. No more £1 value range but multi-buys are decent.

Thankfully my last two orders, one being last month, they gave the normal bags. Paying £1.25 for the dodgy ones feels like a rip off.

Topped up £100 this time though, should be good for next two orders and the odd in-store shop. (edited)

Bonus, haven't been to iceland since that £100 offer last year. I only spent the bonus before its expired, So its been at like £97 for months now.

You essentially have a 2 week period to redeem the 'extra' £1 per £20 between June 9th and June 23rd.

As always with Iceland it's not as generous as it first appears.

I took the Xmas offer of £15 on £100 and despite having a newspaper voucher for £10 off £50 I struggled to get good value for my money - I still have money on the card I’m struggling to get any good value for it
