Only time I ordered online from IKEA the item never turned up and then the replacement arrived damaged. Contacted Ikea to get a refund of the delivery I'd paid for, which was £25 IIRC and they wouldn't do it.

Won't order online from Ikea again because the service is terrible.

I know £19 still a lot but half price certainly encouraged me to place an order!

Large delivery used to be £20. They hiked the prices up over Covid, even though the deliveries were only to the door. Honestly I'm surprised anyone would pay £40, it's disgusting.

I did and I do not regret paying it. All my items were delivered to my place and left in the rooms where I wanted them to be. To each their own.

Well it was £35 in 2018 so not sure when it was £20 but wasn't just before covid.

They hiked the prices of some of their products, but the already exorbitant delivery costs didn't rise so much

It is when you live near the store. Literally within a mile radius...

It's not that honest really. I mean you could buy thousands of pounds of stuff and pay £40 to have it delivered, the same as if someone else bought a sofa.

£40 is scandalous. You basically have to wait till you want to furnish a house to make it viable. The delivery can be more than the item.

Should still be only £25 for you unless you chose
    • Selected time delivery service ** £49

3 mile radius for me! They used to do the £25 local charge for me if I went in, bought the stuff and then arranged delivery, but I think they stopped doing it.

Nearest IKEA to me with stock of the items I wanted is Bristol. Fuel to Bristol and back from where I live would've been about £40, plus my time on top, so although £40 seems a lot it would've saved me some time, wear and tear on my car, and prevent me from buying loads of impulse purchases that I don't really need.

When I placed the order and found it was £19 delivery I was quite happy.

Need a new drawer for my Ikea wardrobe but didn't buy one yet, as the product is 15 pounds and delivery was 40. so it's been missing for about six months! This makes it more reasonable!

Company I work for went from charging for delivery to doing “free” delivery.

we charged 12.50 per seat for delivery, the day we went free delivery the price of every product went up 3-4x the price of the delivery charge.

whether it’s included in the price or “free” you are paying for it. The companies charging for it are just honest about how much it’s costing you

I usually just compare all the prices and buy the cheapest, of product + delivery price and to be fair it’s usually the ones with free delivery that are the cheapest.

What really makes me angry is those companies that have started charging for click and collect, which is ridiculous.

Yes, the bed. And yes, I understand that they had a lot more business because everyone was buying furniture during lockdowns and so they realised they could get £100 more for the same bed. That's exactly what I was saying.
