Amazing price. Can expect 13900k at this price in a years time.

I wouldn't be so sure. Late 2023 will only bring a Raptor Lake Refresh, so gains over 13900K may be limited (13970K?). That could change if AMD bring something even faster to the table.

Good deal, though for this price you're still better off going for the 13600k/kf for gaming for better single core performance as the multi core performance won't matter as much and will run much cooler and draw less power.

    Good deal!

How very annoying that we now have to undervolt 12/13th gen K processors to have them run at normal-ish temps, still high compared to previous generations, but sort of acceptable.

    You actually don't.

The ILM mounting bracket is not applying force to the CPU evenly causing it to bend slightly, causing IHS and cooler plate to not make full even contact.

So you either you use a fair amount force to secure the cooler or you get a contact frame and fix temps that way or lower the voltage slightly and a combination of these means lower temps still class leading performance and room to overclock.

For context, I was hitting 100c with an AIO within seconds of running cinebench, it didnt down clock too much stayed almost always at 5.1/3.9. I tried changing voltages and settings in the BIOS nothing was able to make the system stable.
I then added the contact frame and hitting max 80c! Now this gives a chance to undervolt + overclock! I'm sure I can get 5.4/4.2 or so since there is enough temperature headroom.

    Will a 7800x beat this?

It depends if you a willing to tune. 12600k=7700x. This a should beat 7800x

So my 13600k hit 100c in cinebench! Just installed a contact frame and 80c! Not even an exaggeration. Just to caveat, I don't think I put enough thermal paste, it was fine but little bit less.

My 13600K hit 97C max with a Noctua NDH15s with one fan in Cinebench. I left everything default on my motherboard except fan curves and XMP.

My score was a little lower than others it would seem, but I'm more than happy with the performance and probably won't bother getting round to overclocking or undervolting any time soon since it handles everything else I do with ease and at very decent temps. It's such a great CPU.
