Kamados are made out of Ceramic which has amazing heat retention so it makes them really fuel efficient.

Kamado are well suited for low and slow cooking plus they can also get super super hot so fantastic for searing steaks and even pizzas.

Nothing wrong with a Weber kettle etc, but personally I think these are far more versatile (I have both) (edited)

It's actually £629.10 when you add it to the basket. There must be a further discount automatically added. Works on the bundle with cover, coal and lighters for £719.10.
    Ordered anyway

Debating if I would regret a Classic 1 over the functionality of a Classic 3 before too long. I know there is a massive difference in price, but expect this to last me 20 years. Have had a Grandhall gas BBQ for 15 years and still working brilliantly, you do get what you pay for when it comes to BBQ's......

I have a Classic 3 and it is the best thing ever. The biggest thing for me …I have a Classic 3 and it is the best thing ever. The biggest thing for me between the Classic 1 and the Classic 3 would be little inovations like the top on the 3 does not allow water in, where the 1 comes with a daisy wheel that might let water in if it rain...I can't confirm that as I don't have a 1. Then also I think the ceramic fire basket on the 3 is a better design as it is 5 or 6 loose shapes that slot in, I think the 1 is one big ceramic basket. The 3 also comes with a slow roller that is really a game changer (you can always but this seperate for under £200)But then the price on this is very good :P

Not questioning the 3, I have no doubt its a great bit of kit. But just to clarify the ceramics are the same (or at least we're three years ago... Six pieces that fit together). It's a right pita after you've given it a good clean to fit them all back.

Also your point about rain is fair but I've never had a problem with it. And have done many all day slow cooks in the rain.

Whatever you buy, a kamado is great!

I do rather fancy a joetisserie too!

Will cook it in under 5 mins

Seems the additional discount is no longer available. There was nothing on the website/code for the discount, it was added once you checked your basket. Tried numerous times and always worked until just now. I'd try again tomorrow just in case.

It is a lot but it is very handy for unloading and losing the charcoal, and also improves the air flow.
Plus you can remove the bottom grate when you have one - which makes the KJ quicker/easier to light (as you can throw a few firelighters into the ash tray and light - and then you’re away)

Buy this and a new TV (or similar). You really won't regret it. Bought a classic 1 three years ago and love it, and don't crave the bells and whistles. The real question is this or a Big Joe

This is a stonking deal. I've been looking for a Kamado for quite a while but wasn't sold on the Aldi 3 year warranty. Although Hayes isn't an authorised dealer Kamado Joe confirmed they will honour it when registered. I was a little worried so tried to price match this with other suppliers but all said it's way too low. One (Gates) said considering the delivery's included it's basically cost price. Being delivered on Monday 😁

For me, it’s this or the ii, mainly because of the hinge and seal. But at this price…. 😮‍💨

I had considered the Costco classic 2 deal but at this price. Also, I'm not sure if they'd be a lot of difference between both cooks. I'm certain the seal/catch upgrade is due to the lack of dome weight owing to the new air hinge. And I'm afraid the kontrol tower just isn't worth an extra £320! I'd rather have the classic 1 and a put the remainder to some accessories. Joetisserie looks like an eventual must have.

Damn you make a v good point. Less ‘weight’ cos of the new hinge, less force pushing down on the seal. I had seen review videos where people were saying the 1 leaked because of the seal. But enough to justify an extra £400… easily add that towards a joetisserie / less of an explosion when Mrs find outs the cost!

For me the lifetime warranty (ceramics) swung it. Although many manufacturers don't believe their products last a lifetime (yes, I'm talking to you Makita!) and stop making parts/discontinue. I'm hoping the Joe isn't one of them!

Slightly off topic, as I have just binned my £50 gas Tesco BBQ lol for a Napoleon pro with the cast iron, love it but there's nowhere to put prepped food or anything and all side tables that attach are like thirty quid, am I being a dumb dumb?

I went for it, just couldn't justify the difference in price, will add a SloRoller and apart from the hinge should be fine as the grill will be used under cover, so top vent not an issue.

Yeah a little. Obviously the 500° is up in the dome and try to have the pizza up pretty high. Stops it getting over crispy. Get a charred but soft base and toppings and the cheese has time to melt
