My experience of Kärcher pressure washers - bought a K7 Premium Ecologic from Amazon France in Aug 2015. Enjoyed using it for for less than 3 years until it sprang an internal LP leak.

Local Kärcher dealer took it for repair - came back in exactly same (broken) condition
Contacted Kärcher UK who collected it and repaired it - worked OK for less than an hour

5 year warranty is worthless. One of the most disappointing product and customer service experiences of my life.

Sorry, did you say karcher is impressive. karcher powerwashers are rubbish, everyone knows that. Cheap plastic poorly made junk. Pump mad of alloy and plastic lol. Just wait until winter and try it next year, also bet it lasts a year. (edited)

You clearly know nothing. They are terrible. They sell millions because they are cheap. They are poorly made and don't last. Some people say theirs has lasted 4 years but then you find out they use it one every month or 6 months lol.

I've had Karcher ones, nilfisk but they are rubbish. Poor flow rate (litres per second).

Karcher lie about the bar and flow rate. Pumps are made from cheap alloy with a plastic housing, which is why the eventually leak. Most people wont notice but you'll lose pressure. The pumps are rated to last 50 hours, enough for the warranty. Karchers cant be run dry with out water, sound like a jetfighter, and can't do much more than an hour at at a time without overheating. They promise big warranties but don't honour them.

I ended getting a Kranzle. Used by professionals. No trade person uses a Karcher. Forged brass pump, pistons made from ceramic, etc. Pumps is built to last 1000s of hours. They are built like a tank, can be run for hours (1 day I ran mine for 12 hours, cleaning 4 cars, driveway, patio, etc. You defo cant do that with a Karcher, I know), can be run dry, every part can be replaced if needed. Kranzle's are more expensive but the quality difference to Kranzle. Key parts have a 10 year warranty. However, they now do cheaper ones at £300 - yes, they are defo worth the extra. Karcher = trabant, Kranzle =Porsche/merc/bmw/audi/bentley

and no i am not a rep for any company, just learnt the hard way. Buy cheap, buy twice. (edited)

Agree but you need to look past the figures and see the reviews and length of time the cheap ones last, plastic motors just don’t last. Theses people who have failures just wont buy again.

Usual HUKD waffle rubbishing a product with no substance.

I've had this pressure washer since March 2018 used it for a whole host of jobs some lasting 2hrs+, no issues whatsoever.

Ignore that person who keeps slating karcher. He shows up every time promoting Kranzle.
He makes a rude derogatory comment and then when you prove him wrong, he disappears. (edited)

My Karcher washers experience has been good...

I’ve bought a Karcher K3 from Costco a few years back, it’s got a metal interior pump and has been faultless. I also had K2 for many years (very noisy but good!).

I bought a (non Karcher) 10m pressure hose off EBay using a discount code and that has made using it to wash our cars it so easy, I would recommend buying a longer pressure hose 100%.

As folk have said make sure you disconnect water hose to it every time you finish using it and that way the water inside can drain out, so it won’t freeze inside machine in cold weather conditions.

I also agree with others though, Nilfisk are good value as they all have metal interior pumps I believe, so if going for a budget pressure washer maybe look at Nilfisk too?

Just my 2 cents using real world examples.....

I bought one about 2 months ago for £198 so fail to see how it is now at £198 that that is a deal. That said, this is a brilliant machine and Karcher customer service has been very impressive. For example, after using a couple of times the attachments were proving very difficult to go into the gun. Spoke to customer service and they sent out a new gun - just like that, once they had proof of purchase and the serial number.

Warranty is 3 years not 5 on the K5. And at either £198 or £235 - worth every penny. Already used it to clean 2 patios which have never been cleaned in 11 years and came up like new!

If you buy from Karcher direct you get 36 months plus an extra 12, for the difference.
On the K4 compact a few weeks ago, it was a better deal on the main site with an extra dirt blaster lance.
