I'm using this 2TB Kingston NV2 NVMe SSD inside an external Orico enclosure and it's working really well. It can read and write huge files at a constant speed with no slow-downs, so for my uses, this NV2 drive is faster than the Samsung 980 vanilla. The NV2 seems more like a marathon runner than a 400m sprinter.

Below: External Kingston NV2 delivers full speed for the whole write. Happy with purchase!

Any idea what sort of speed you'd get from this in a gen 3 slot? I know gen 3 max is faster than this, but curious if there's any reason it might be slower

If you're going gen3, get a higher endurance TLC NAND drive instead, like this Lexar -

This Kingston is a pretty bad drive. Is was decent when it was released as they used TLC NAND, but they switched to QLC (without changing the model/part numbers) and now it's not great. (edited)

Hello everyone. Just a quick query. Would this be suitable for upgrading PS5 storage?

Below spec recommended by Sony but it will work.

Yep, that was based off the fact that, at the time, you could get either TLC or QLC NAND (QLC being the 'risky' part).

Now you can pretty much only get the QLC version.

After some advise please, my Lenova L13 laptop has an existing ssd (a Samsung PM981a, model: MZ-VLB256PM981a) which I'd like to replace. Could anyone recommend upgrade options please?
