Would’ve jumped on this 6 months ago. With energy prices now I wouldn’t be able to afford running it. (edited)

Had one of these running 7 months per year for last 2 years on my current very low fixed energy tariff at 2p per kwh gas and 14 per kwh electric and including my very busy house with approx 4 loads of washing per day in the dryer we are already paying £230 direct debit.
Wont be putting the lazy spa up any more apart from the odd week here and there, my tariff ends april and edf wanted £495 per month last time i looked, when it rises again april im guessing it will be 600ish ☹️ (edited)

I think this is a real issue, and we'll see these continue to sell at discounts.

Feel for ya my dude, truly. We've a more than likely ASD toddler and he is quite the handful so deffo know where you're coming from. Anything that makes the day better or easier for you has to be a win.

Is that on variable ? How much were you paying prior to the £80 increase ? The 495 is on the fixed tariff they are offering us but i think im going to go for variable if its lower, however the prices are due to rise again april so im wondering if £495 per month will end up being a decent fixed price.
Hard to believe the prices are increasing so much

Fixed. We were previously paying 35 and at one point during 2019 got it as low as 18 . We've always been energy conscious though .

We both work from home too so regularly have a pc or two running 12+ hours a day .

Local people had said that thier electric went up to 200 and I couldn't imagine how much they must be using.

judging by someone else's comment it seems a hottub runs around £20 a day now so if you're using yours I could see how you get to that 500 quite quickly.

A hot tub isn't £20 per day, on my current fixed tariff of £14p per kwh i worked it out to approx £2 per day so if the prices have doubled for people not still on an old fixed price it will be around £4.
We are using the tumble dryer approx 5 hours per day at 56p per hour, so thats £4.80 per day just for the hot tub and tumble dryer for the 7 months hot tub is setup.
This works out to £1442 per year for the tumble dryer and hot tub alone so its costing me another £1318 to run the rest of the houses electric, cetral heating and gas cooker as my yearly cost is £2760 on my current tariff but with gas prices quadruple and electric double when my tariff ends april im in for a huge rise

A small 3 bed semi, the fixed tariff edf offered me was 495, but its going up again april so 600 was just a blind guess what they're going to offer me fixed but im going variable which im hoping will be much lower (edited)

Ahh, your G&E is 450 . Ok we were electric only as our gas is LPG bulk. Our Gas is £450 a year .

The tumble dryer is no doubt the big thing there, we don't even own one. £75 a month to not use a clothes airer doesn't personally sound like a good trade off to me but each to thier own I suppose.

Why come on here talking nonsense and lying to potential buyers ?
the hot tub uses a 2kw heater so at 14p per kwh it uses 28p per hour.
If the heater was running 24 hours per day it would only cost £6.72 for a day x 3 = £20.16 for 3 days and the heater doesn't even run for half the day let alone 24 hours, so it would of cost you approx £10 for 3 days on old electric prices, £20 on todays ridiculous high prices, plus about an extra £5 if you didn't have the common sense to fill it up with the hot tap to begin with (edited)

Same to you buddy, it gets harder as they get older and can open/climb gates and locks.
Our daughter is 9 now and non-verbal, i hope your child can speak or learns too! It would make our lives so much easier and less frustrating for our daughter.
    Goodluck !
