Has anyone tried the £5.99 baseplate set from B&M? I keep thinking about picking one up but then tell myself that they are probably crap. 🤷🏼‍♀️ bmstores.co.uk/pro…572

Yeah, me. It's ok, It could be stiffer and not warped (I didn't try to heat it on a flat surface, I chose like 4 out of 10 in the shop to buy a fair enough one). It's a big board tbh so maybe it would be too expensive to make it stronger, it's fair enough for what it is. I mostly bought it to use with 10kg of lego bought on budget so I built a wall around it that made it stronger. Pitty there is no way to connect the bottom with another board but those smaller boards are ok, they do a job to make it stiff (I used a hammer to put that amount of blocks or... I will glue it).
Tbh lego is not that much better made than that fake lego (1 to 0.8) so there is no real choice, that at least has that smaller boards put on top, lego has just that plate,
    but,
I see now there are better plates which could be stacked and I regret a bit I didn't buy that instead and stack like 2-3 together amazon.co.uk/dp/…HD/ and I see now it would be waaaaay better to build up big construction (or add more boards on top of that b&q).
I think I will buy some of that amazon one to put on the b&m one and that will make it ultimate,
    but,
the b&m is 16x16 inches and the max from amazon is 10x10 so there is no question about what to choose really, that must be the biggest available around.

Bought 6 pieces for £15 for non-branded. Works the same. Can justify paying this much for a plastic sheet
