Anyone buying this I would upgrade to wi-fi 6e 11ax card as it cost nothing against the wifi 5 (wifi 11ax). also you might want to add qhd panel for £48 more witch is worth the extra imo (edited)

Yes, the upgraded screen not only has a higher resolution, but more importantly, it has way better colours.

I'm tempted by the OLED that comes with the i7 option too. 1080p at 14" is plenty of resolution and QHD is overkill at this size.

Not to mention the really cheap backlit keyboard. That's absolutely worth it. (edited)

Brilliant price for the spec. Add a Windows 7 pro with COA licence from EBay for £10 and you have a really decent work laptop.

For anyone that’s unaware, you can upgrade windows 7 to 11 on supported hardware at no extra cost. Cheapest way of buying Windows 11 that’s genuine and better than grey market keys from unknown sources. (edited)

Seems a good deal but if you remove the OS what are you going to replace it with.
I did notice if you downgraded the RAM it works out the same as removing the OS.

I saw this comment in another post that I found helpful. I got mine without OS so will look at installing myself when it comes

I'm writing this mini review from this laptop! Got it last time on offer for very slightly less.
I loaded the Windows 10 trial onto it but couldn't get it to sleep right without it waking up so had to load windows 11.
Keyboard gets a little bit warm but no big deal.
Get about 7 hours battery life with just web stuff going on. It charges from usb-c and its great using an anker plug to charge my phone and laptop without using the big lenovo brick.
Instead of using 4 little feet, it has a big fin all along the back and it really digs into my legs when I use it on my lap.
I upgraded to the Wifi 6E 11AX module and I wish I didn't. The wifi on this laptop is the worst of all devices I have. I updated the wifi drivers with the Intel device driver updater and its still not as good as my old thinkpad or phone.
    I love the screen.
    I love the keyboard!
The plastic frame is already flexing after 2 months of use. The thin plastic strip between the trackpad and edge has started creaking this week.
Thanks HUKD for alerting me about this a few months ago!

You have all the negatives I have mentioned.

Looks good for the price. Solid specs (edited)

I’m completely fed up now! How do you put a decent 13th Gen processor in a 14 inch screen!!! It is too big!! Laptops should be portable and easily carried around.
Why make the screen sizes so big?? How are you supposed to carry this and navigate through trains and airports???
    Giwin's avatar
The 14 inch is the perfect screen size....

Is backlit keys worth it for £10... actually only adds for £8 (edited)
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
Yes definitely, my daughter has it and its actually a good keyboard
  10. Mark_Hickman's avatar
Soo annoying, i bought my daughter the i5 12450h version from them with 500gb tlc using a 10% student discount recently for 459 😔
My daughter's really happy though, its really fast and great quality keyboard and trackpad.

If you are ordering change wifi to wifi 6E and add backlit keyboard, its works out £8 more (edited)

Is there anywhere to select whether its a plastic or metal chassis? Seen it mentioned in the description but no option when building.
  12. xenny's avatar
Have this from an earlier deal. Nice machine, but is warm to the touch in general use, so think more table/tray than lap use, even if only so your clothes don't block the cooling vents. (edited)

Is yours a plastic or metal build? Did you have the option when customising?

Got it cheaper with upgrades included, very happy with it

Do you think the processor upgrade (+OLED screen which it adds), is worth the £140 extra?
    xenny's avatar
What are you going to use it for? For general office/web, the base machine is very acceptable.
  18. blaser's avatar
The default screen is horrid (45 NTSC colour gamut), pay the extra £60 for the upgraded screen.
  19. UmarAslamMaatAcma's avatar
    Is Ram upgradeable?
    dabooj's avatar
    No. It states it's soldered.
  20. deleted2844744's avatar
There are going to be some issues with this.
Battery is not big enough, on top of the that, this processor will it it very quickly and probably the built in quality is not the best. I used ideapads before and I had quality problems.

Bought one when it was on offer for Black Friday in summer following Amazon prime day. It was slightly cheaper but this is still a good buy…

Anyone else having booting issues with theirs? I get nothing listed in the boot menu...
    Player-1's avatar
When booting up does it load into windows... how long you had it. Of brand new you might need to install windows
