Not a big deal at this price.

I had a NM610 fail within 3 months. Sample of one so not representative etc etc but personally wouldn't buy from them again.

Sadly, someone has to get unlucky.
I had a WD SN850 die within days, not going to let that put me off WD drives in the future.

Lexar are generally very reliable, with reviews to confirm. They use Micron NAND -

I was about to post this, lol.
Nice price for a 2TB TLC Gen4. No DRAM isn't a deal breaker at this price. (edited)

Yep, looks like warehouse stock has been snapped up.
It's hit and miss when they say 1-2 Months, sometimes they have stock the next week, sometimes they never come back at all.

    1200 TBW

Pretty standard for a 2TB TLC drive, but stated TBW's are theoretical anyway so not really a great thing to judge a drives endurance by.
Some companies are more optimistic so state higher TBW's while others might be a bit more conservative. (edited)

"Clearly did something wrong" = purchased from the official Lexar Store on Amazon which is a third party seller so any returns are referred back to Lexar who don't appear to understand UK Consumer rights. Any attempt to do "normal" Amazon returns - which I agree are excellent - refers me to the manufacturer.

Still dispatched by Amazon, so returns in the first year are just as simple as if it were sold by Amazon.
It's only when items are dispatched by marketplace sellers you start to have problems, so I avoid doing that whenever possible.

I've probably returned more items that were sold by marketplace sellers than directly from Amazon (I buy a lot of random cheap chinese no-name stuff). (edited)

I finally got through a maze of chat prompts to an actual CS person and got a refund as a "gesture of goodwill", which is an interesting concept vs consumer law. Certainly not just as simple, I'll be very careful to avoid in future...

Well, hopefully that was just a one off experience.
Like I said, I've never had a problem so not sure what went wrong with yours. Perhaps you just got a jobsworth when you first started your request.
