"I really found it difficult not to fall in love with the LG C2. It’s a fantastic screen, offering high full-field brightness with enviable HDR handling.” ’GamesRadar’ – Editor’s Choice.

48 inch OLED – ideal for smaller rooms
With its exceptional contrast and rich depth of image, OLED continues to set a standard that’s hard to beat. This LG 48 inch TV is smaller than the more usual 55 or 65 inch LG OLED TV, making it ideal for smaller rooms or simply for a more discreet look in your home.

SELF-LIT OLED – the ultimate picture technology
Rather than using a backlight, OLED TVs feature self-illuminating pixels. This SELF-LIT technology means that you get 100% colour fidelity, infinite contrast with the deepest depth and stunning detail.

Alpha 9 Gen 5 processing for improved sound and vision
Now in its fifth generation, LG’s mighty Alpha 9 processor optimises sound and vision for spectacular results. Using AI technology, the picture and sound are optimised to best suit the genre – be it movies, sport, gaming or regular TV. With enhancements to picture tone-mapping, background enhancement and upscaling, picture processing is more advanced than ever. Virtual sound channel up-mixing increases from 5.1.2 to 7.1.2, giving an even more enveloping sound on this LG 48” TV.

AI Picture/Sound Pro for professional sound and vision
Using a huge database of over one million visual date points, AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.

Ultimate detail - Dolby Vision IQ
For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.

Made for gaming – with Game Optimiser and more
The improved Game Optimiser utilises an enhanced gaming menu, giving you quick access to important settings. There are now five game genre presets, including a new one for sports games. Equipped with 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 sockets, this LG TV is designed to get the very best from today’s, and future, games consoles. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mean that your TV automatically adjusts to the optimised settings for gaming – giving you a smoother and faster response.

Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in this LG 48” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for an even more immersive sound. With its built-in speaker system and punchy amp, the OLED48C24LA delivers a smooth, well-balanced sound.

Welcome home, with LG webOS 22 – the best in smart TV
Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to set the standard. The latest webOS 22 offers improved personalisation and recommendations. You can create up to six personalised profiles, with individual viewing suggestions, sport alerts and app lists.

NFC Magic Tap for content mirroring around your home
You can access your webOS TV profile via your smartphone with the NFC Magic Tap app. Even better, NFC Magic Tap lets you mirror content from your mobile to the TV – and not just a single TV. You can mirror content from one TV in your home, to another, using the Room To Room Share function. This lets you view cable or satellite content on multiple screens, without the need for additional set-top boxes.

The hub of your home entertainment – with voice control
Featuring LG’s ThinQ AI technology, you can control a Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, it makes it even easier to control your LG OLED TV and quickly access the entertainment you’re looking for.

See the beauty of OLED on a more compact screen, with the LG OLED48C24LA.

Please note, this Smart TV features third party Apps. These Apps may be modified or withdrawn at any time. There may also be a delay in launching some of the featured Apps. Catch-up TV Apps may vary by region. The function and availability of apps is not covered by the manufacturer’s or Richer Sounds’ guarantee.

Cheapest currently but with 1 year warranty.

John Lewis has this TV with 5yr warranty for £949 + £100 e-gift card: johnlewis.com/lg-oled48c24la

    Edit: John Lewis deal expired.

Alternatively Beyond Television has this for £899 with 5 year warranty. (According to their description). beyondtelevision.co.uk/lg-electronics

Also remember, this 48” version doesn’t have the brightness booster as it’s bigger siblings but it is not too much difference according to some users. (edited)

Genuine question. Why are people crying about warranties? I haven't seen that since my Gran bought a Dyson 20 years ago.

Is the TV so unreliable that it's almost guaranteed to die? If so, how is that a quality product?

    What am I missing?

Note that I was gonna buy a 48 inch C3 from Currys for 1200 but the stock check online was wrong and the shop was out on Saturday. Makes me nervous.

A long warranty is recognition by a manufacturer or supplier, of confidence in their products. A one year warranty is not very good. The EU insist on two. Leaving the EU has allowed some manufacturers to slip back to one year. Don't buy stuff with a one year warranty. Insist on better!
Richer Sounds are letting themselves down here with altering their warranty. They must have confidence in LG TV's. (edited)

I never seen the word warranty used so much in a thread.

It's so weird mate. I even asked about it. I have bought beds, standing desks, chairs, graphics cards, showers, boilers for equal or double this and don't care about a warranty really. (I mean the standard manufacturer one is usually (literally always for me) fine). It just makes me feel like the CX models are so bad that you literally need one.

It's like an internet lore with this specific TV but honestly I remember in 2009 buying a 48 inch Panasonic Plasma and being told that in a month I'd get burn in. It lasted 13 years and only went to the dump coz every other room had a more modern TV.

My dad walked into a richer sounds store today and bought this TV for £799 with a 6 year warranty
    LOUGHBORO.GUY's avatar
    Which store was this ???
  6. Peter_Piper76's avatar
Also don’t forget even when you have the 6 yr warranty, it’s a sliding scale. At 5yrs 50% of original value at 6yrs 40% of original value. So you still will need to stump up fair bit of cash for your new TV.
    mattk's avatar
Yeah but still better than nothing after 13 months. And also most TVs are repaired these days and not written off. (edited)

Decent deal but I'm hanging on the see what C3 deals there on on Black Friday.
    CraigeDavido's avatar
Can't see the c3 coming down Much. I'm looking at purchasing the c3 to 55 inch. I might just order it this week. Can get it for £1,200 through Costco membership, with 5 year warranty, or i can get it directly on LG website, for just under £1,100 with discount code, but it only 1 year warranty on there i been hearing, so that's putting me off. No chance buying a brand-new tv with only that.

Great price for an awesome TV which you won't regret buying (I have the older c1)

Great TV but the warranty is a deal breaker for me - 5/6 years is a long time and something could easily go wrong by then.
    beastwez's avatar
Yep, my 2yr old LG 65 OLED has just gone off away for repair. Thankfully 6 year warranty, but it's a known issue with LG

Bought this TV last week from the other deal on eBay(Thanks OP), first day I was gob smacked and then second day got green columns appearing and ruining everything. Luckily I decided to update the TV with the latest update and the green columns are gone for now, these TVs are very finnicky , delicate and definitely require an extended warranty for peace of mind compared to old LCD dumb TVs we used to have ( this C2 replaced a 13 year old Sony bravia LCD) but what you see in UHD HDR it's simply astonishing and wipes the floor with any other TV.

Not sure what they are doing... This TV has now disappeared from the page when you look at oleds but if you go direct to the page it's back up to £999 but you can now enter a code "SUPRISE" for £200 off bringing to back to £799 but still only 1 year warranty.

They did something similar this morning they had the 55 inch B3 up at £999 with a free soundbar and 6 years then suddenly it went back up to £1099 so I called them and they said it's £999 with 1 year and £1099 with 6 years lol they can't seem to make their mind up with what deals they want to do.

Also if you go to the black Friday section and then choose to just see oleds leave it filtered by recommended you will see a Panasonic 55 inch for £999 but if you filter by low to high it vanishes also on one browser it is showing me the 42 inch c3 for £949 but another shows £999.

Any good 65'+ OLED deals for G2 or G3 models?
    fiffio101's avatar
Best I can find is direct with LG and using works perks or blue light account £1600 for the g2 and £2000 for the G3.

Interesting to read how little confidence people have in these TVs lasting more than a year. Had our 42in Sony for over a decade at this point and recently started considering a replacement. Are modern sets massively unreliable? (edited)

Ive had several sonys they just keep going. Owned a couple of lgs both of which kicked the bucket in less than 5years

The measly 1 year warranty is a real deal breaker.
Their reduced Philips 43PFS6808 has 2 years and is just £229, yet they only give 1 year on a £799 tv.
  23. Professor_Chaos's avatar
Am after a 55 inch maximum size TV for streaming. I could wait for the C3 to be reduced in BF sales but is there anything cheaper especially at Costco (imho the best customer service)

Title looks great but one year warranty is bad. Cold for me. Oled TVs need 6 year warranty.
Richersounds are pretending it is a black Friday deal...all they have done is remove the money spent on warranty. Bah Humbug. Bought an LG 55C2 from them in last year's Black Friday for £979.
    This year's deal is meh!

The 6 year warranty you’ve gotten loses value each year. Normal 5 year warranty, like Costco or JL etc will be fully covered for 5 years without losing value. (edited)

Wouldn't touch another LG if using it as a TV. I have the CX and had nothing but bother with its software. It's getting worse as well. So slow, and now it's started hanging. The programme guide never worked since Day 1
    Robdataff's avatar
I know you shouldn't need to, but I replaced the entire crappy remote/os on my last few tvs with a roku.
  27. pajoe's avatar
I am going to hold off buying an LG Oled from Richersounds until they reinstate the 6 year warranty on Black Friday deals. By cutting the warranty to one year they are undermining their own trust in LG Oled TVs..bad form..
