I bought this last week thinking it would increase the shower pressure, not a chance, in fact I thought the one I have was more powerful, so ended up returning.

    Totally agree. Pure false advertisement

    1. FILTRATION: Chlorine is not a contaminant. It's deliberately added to the water supply to kill waterborne pathogens. There's no information on these miracle 'mineral balls' and how they 'remove' chlorine and other chemicals, or how long they are effective if in fact they actually do anything. Limescale? Yes it's undesirable in your washing machine and a pain in your kettle, but not on your skin or shower tray.
    2. POWER: If you make the holes in the shower head smaller, the pressure of the water creates greater force when it's released through the holes. It might feel more 'powerful' but the pressure and water flow (litres/second) remain the same. Partially block the end of your garden hose with your thumb and you'll get the same effect; the water seems stronger, and travels further, but the stream is much thinner and the amount of water coming out per second is exactly the same.

    1. Limescale on a glass shower screen is a nightmare. Ask anyone who has ever lived in Swindon.

Agree, no issue with this shower head, good quality and functionality. Would recommend.

If you have a gravity fed system, then the ONLY thing (apart from adding a pump to the system) that would increase flow, is a) increasing pipe size b) increasing height of tank c) both. This head will only serve to impede flow with all those silly 'filter' balls. The 'best' shower heads in my experience are proper MIRA ones. They are more expensive, but they are good. I for one would also never get those silly 'water saving' ones too. Just full bore all the way.

I bought this last week too. I’m happy with it. You can adjust the nozzle for stronger pressure (like all shower heads).

Installed this week from previous deal. Has increased our shower power so happy so far.

Same here. And there was no throttling devices in the previous one.

I seen a geologist commenting on these and he was of the opinion they would have no effect on the water at all.

Cheap gimmick. Terrible quality as well

    This does not soften water.

I bought last week, thought it would be a gimmick but it did actually increase pressure, albeit not be much. I thought it was worth the buy

This definitely does not increase pressure. Got one in 2015 for about £5. It just has some weird filter stones that probably don't do much either.

Exactly. They’re just a scam. Voted cold.

    Nothing cheap here….

This was no good. Got a stone stream instead and it’s 10x better

    Link?

Why are these constantly on here? They’re utter rubbish.
  14. Nebj's avatar
Price is irrelevant these are absolute rubbish.

Brought it last time on offer. I returned it. Less power than my previous head. Quite plastic look but acceptable quality.

Those mineral balls would only reduce waterflow, can't see how it would increase pressure. But if you want to remove chlorine then possibly it might be suitable for that use.

Not posting any links but i bought this recently and its the best i've found

I had this one and the pressure switch broke very quickly

I have a gravity feed system for a upstiars shower probably less than 0.1 bar.I bought one a couple of weeks back simply to see if it had any effect, I removed the balls simply to increase the flow rate.

The one thing I did notice is that in the base of the shower head the flow is restricted by small orifices simply to stop the balls falling out of the holder. Next job will be to drill out this restriction in the head and therefore increase the flow rate.

Overall no improvement ,pure physics involved here. Standby for update when I drill out the restriction.

i also purchased a 11 mm Euroshower superlux, Purely from a visual they do not seem to have the restriction of other hoses where the hose is swaged on to the end fitting.

Methven Kiri Satinjet Showerhead is the best so far even though this is for a 0.35 Bar system. (edited)

I have one of these. I bought it because the small holes give a more powerful jet of water than the normal shower heads. It's far better than the previous shower head in my system (pumped).

This is going to make absolutely no difference to a system which has poor power in the first place, gravity fed for example.

There are ways to increase pressure on these systems but it’s not a £10 shower head so don’t waste your money.
