Splatoon 2 £26.11

Not a bad price for both games.

To buy you need to change region to SA here. You can pay by any card as SA eShop is part of Europe but Ideally pay with fee fee card such as revolt for better exchange rate.

Theyre moving in to the gap in map where UK used to be in Europe

I am shocked people still get so excited over a cheap digital version. This has no resale value at all! Most Nintendo stuff keeps it value example is Splatoon 2 about £40 is the best price. Trade in value cash £26 or £31 towards a new game. Yes it is more expensive but at least I am getting something of value.

I just used my credit card, there were no issues at all, as soon as i purchased, the download started, I exited the eshop, used that link to change my region again, logged BACK into the eshop on my switch, had to enter password again, checked eshop and it still showed Mario kart as being "Purchased" and the download continued.

So step by step, - on pc click on link in post to change your acc location to south africa

On switch go to eshop and buy mario kart for 499 rand, i used my credit card

As soon as purchase is complete exit eshop

Back to PC use the link again and change back to UK

Log back into eshop and enter your password to make sure all is well.

Wait for the download and bask in the glory of a cheap Switch game!

A few question... quick Do you have to change your region to play the games you download every time? For example, I have games downloaded on my switch now from the U.K. store, and to play the SA games do I have to switch, or with they combine so I can see all games without changing region continually?

For digital games to run, the Nintendo account that purchased them has to be "active" on that Switch. (Nintendo accounts can only be active on a single Switch.)

I just set up an account (currently named "eShop SA") for foreign purchases and left my main account as UK-based.

Both accounts are active on my Switch and there's no messing about with changing regions. Seems to work well.

Edit: forgot to say, best to pay with a card that doesn't charge for currency conversion. Not sure if debit cards are ok but credit cards are. (edited)

It's definitely about convenience for me now- so far most of my early switch games have been physical because they were cheaper to buy, but to be honest i find myself playing the digital games more because it's just way more easier to grab a joycon press the home button and jump straight into a game.

Anyway I'm off to finally purchase Splatoon2 held off long enough.

Yes. Save data is interchangeable between physical and digital

Was really wary about changing regions etc but honestly it's so bloody easy! As long you know your password it's a 30 second job just follow that link, change, log back into the eshop and boom! Although paying 499 of any currency for a game is scary lol! Bit that took the longest was finding South Africa in the list of countries Heat!

You only need to change regions to access the eStore to purchase those games. Once you’ve purchased them, they are tied to your account so you should be able to play them whenever you like.

Exactly. I got a Halifax Clarity card a couple of years ago specifically to avoid these charges on holiday. Came in handy for the SA eShop too.

I know the solution has been pointed out, but I also had the same issue. I initially gave up until someone posted a step-by-step guide on here mentioning you have to do the region switch on pc/mobile but then buy the game on the switch eshop. Then it worked fine.

Not that I could tell and from the info I find on Google it doesn't accept Paypal, I ended up signing up for Revolut, you get a virtual card pretty much instantly only problem is minimum deposit of £10 and wouldn't work with Google pay for me.

Not sure if there will ever be a problem if you have a faulty console in the future.

i had my console replaced by Argos early this year, I couldn’t download my digital purchases on my new console, I believe I should have ‘unauthorised’ the old console before returning it. All well and good but the fault was with the WiFi.

I had to call Nintendo UK and give them my UK account details to activate the purchases to the new console, not sure what I would have had to do if I also have other foreign digital content?.
