CEX currently has Mario Kart 8 for Wii U reduced to
£6 because servers were offline. However five months after it temporarily shut down online multiplayer for both titles, Nintendo says it has addressed a "vulnerability related to online play".

Servers will go live again sometime today, 3rd August, some 153 days later, with a fresh patch to download for both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon.

    That’s why Nintendo shut it down for 5 months, I think they fixed all the hacking exploits.

    No, it won't include the new courses, and it shouldn't include the original DLC either, unless I missed some news somewhere.This'll essentially be the launch version, which is a fine game in its own right, but bare bones compared to what's on Switch right now. Also Nintendo have apparently warned that they could pull the servers at any time, so it remains to be seen how long the online support for this version will last.
