Also allows to to safely run dual firmware with the right cart (_;)
I have the Link Between Worlds 3DS XL in front of me, hence the I don't NEED it (Since in the grand scheme of things the New are this gens DSi) comment but it's still tempting as it's bloody gorgeous
Run exploits.
Faster processor (so menus are better, some games are improved), better 3D, built in near field reader, built in secondary joystick.
Plus Xenoblade Chronicles and most of the SNES classics (Mario, Earthbound, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, F-Zero...) are exclusive to the new model.
If you're talking about IPS screens, no version of the 3DS is guaranteed to have them. It seems like a lottery - Nintendo QA is pretty slack in this regard so I wouldn't get anyone's hopes up saying the black or blue consoles will have IPS screens. There are Hyrule units out there with IPS too.
Besides, the 'normal' screen is perfectly fine. The main benefit of IPS is the better viewing angles which is nice, but not worth crying over.
Also I'd argue it is worth getting the Hyrule edition because it will almost certainly hold its value better than the black or blues (and looks a whole lot nicer to boot).
they do or they dont? your post isnt quite clear

Yes it looks amazing! I'd recommend getting the clear plastic Hori cover as well. These things are fingerprint/scratch magnets.
Mine when I bought from Amazon shipped with 10.3 which I was able to easily bring down to 9.2
Just bought Metallic Blue from ShopTo for £149.85 with DPD next day delivery
Was it used? As Internet says 9.9.
Nope brand new, Pre-order item too.
exploitception
With an exploited firmware you can exploit the system to allow you to downgrade the console to an earlier firmware. Earlier firmwares are more susceptible to installations of custom firmware and homebrew applications.

The US version comes with 9.9 installed as it was released back in November. The European version however does come with 10.3.
What do you even need a cart for? Not needing to swap carts and i haven't even moved over to a9lh yet. Sooo tempted to get this n3ds over my o3ds xl although none of the games are good enough to justify the expensive upgrade.
...then I found out it doesn't really exist
As you might've seen when you searched, this was £144 from Base a few weeks ago. I realise this won't make you feel any better. Just saying
I'm always tempted to bite on the N3DS, but I can't quite justify circa £150 to play some old SNES games I finished 20-odd years ago.
Nice one! I'm really tempted to get one now. So many great games.
