How to get it sorted
Ask them to not scan the barcode, try the code first.
If code does work, ask them to make a manual deduction (this is the point at which you need to use Jedi mind control)
If they don't honour it
Go to Amazon live chat. Don't expect anything. But hotukdealers have had between £7 or £8 credits on their accounts to use for the order. I've been awarded £7 - and I haven't made the journey to Currys yet.
Good luck. (edited)
Maybe currys/pc world should a) look at getting this “fake” voucher taken down and b) be a bit more consistent, some stores accepting, some not.
Either way, isn’t doing much good for curry’s/pc world. After how I was spoken to (and I only showed the voucher, didn’t argue with anyone) I sure as hell won’t be spending my money with them anymore.
Cracking price, as always - heat added.
Disappointed is an understatement.
Even if there was a cock up with the codes.... Might help if the staff had been made aware of the offer in the first place (!!!).
Shoddy company and no doubt soon to join the retail graveyard.
Hi, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you regarding this. Our content team have been working hard to determine the cause of this issue with the Currys team and it looks to have been an error on Currys behalf with the codes certain stores had loaded to their systems. We are awaiting a confirmed solution to this issue but we are hoping Currys can supply us with a new code for you ASAP that has been confirmed as valid as we don't want to send you back into store unless we are 100% confident this will work. We're really sorry about this experience you had as we appreciate this must have been very frustrating. As soon as we have an update we will be in touch to advise!
Lets face it PC World/Currys has never been other than dire Customer Service. Only time they had a shake up was when Best Buy was around. Now thats gone they have just deteriorated again to their usual pitiful excuse of customer service.
I did wonder about that - has anyone definitely had the right voucher for the right store, and seen the till assistant put the code into the till?
The manager told me to tell my friends to get staff to do the above. It works. I just got it
Probably. Those £80 HDMI cables are clearly not shifting in great enough volume to cover rental costs.
Job Centre
Well at least they saved you money!
So I explained the problem someone in the Curry’s.call centre. They were very good in reassuring me and they will try their best to help. They passed me onto another department who listened to me problem of ‘the store put the deal through for someone else but not me’
The guy told me that he will treat it as a complaint and will refund me £10 if I placed an order online or went into store. I asked if I could do it there and then while he waited over the phone and he was happy to do so. Then after I gave him my order number, he refunded £10 back to me.
So to conclude:
In store staff: 0 stars
Over the phone customer service: 5 stars
I hope you left the game on the counter and walked out. Disgraceful
Hey, yes this voucher is working correctly and should be accepted in-store. We advise the the cashier to type in the code rather than scan the bar code. Which branch are you using it in? - Hannah.
My voucher has the store I reserved on so hopefully it will work, if they refuse then no biggie.
Did you get the same level of rude customer service that I did?!
But Currys live chat said it's a genuine deal. I sent them the web link to voucher cloud, they navigated to the site and said it was genuine. (edited)
Maybe you should tell your live chat guys who are saying it's valid.
