Yup done it since the gamecube (although that was more comparable in xb and ps2 at the time). Couldn't be without the likes of zelda, metroid, mario etc. but i would be really struggling for entertainment if i only owned a wii u.
Maybe worth noting the below info though (paste from advert):
"EURO Unit - UK 3-pin plug adapter supplied as required"
Depends on how much digital content you have tbh, I have quite a bit - around 80GB worth so far. I wouldn't recommend a USB memory stick, they're also not advised by Nintendo. Not sure of the technical reason.
Digital games from the eshop, they average 5GB a game. Some are huge, e.g. Xenoblade X (23GB) and Lego City (22GB). Also, some updates for disk based games are huge too - Smash Bros for instance requires a 3GB patch.

Aye, I did too. Nintendo stuff seems to hold there price for some reason. Might be worth buying one of these and putting it in the loft for a future cash in.
Is it really worth getting a wiiu over an xbox one? Seems games are more expensive too...
Supposedly usb sticks arent meant to be continuously read and written from and will eventually burn out. That said i dont play on my wii u that much so i bought a usb stick for like £15 (cant remember if it was 64gb or 128gb) and have the xenoblade installs running on that without issue.
I like my wii but i would say if you're only buying one console get a xb1 or ps4, even for a 6 year old. There are so many games for all ages on those platforms. You will get 5+ years out of those, i doubt any wii u games will be released in 2 years.

For me it always has been the case, I would never own any Nintendo console as a 'sole' console, but enjoy what little exclusives are out for them.
Yeah seems too much for such an old console now. Whens the next gen out?
Rumors are pointing to this Christmas for the release of the Nintendo NX. But definitely early next year at the latest I would say.
I'd have to disagree, our 6yo is glued to it, and he adores making new levels and playing other peoples content. He's successfully re-created some excellent levels, and shown how very creative he can be in his own right.
I think you'll be surprised just how awesome Mario Maker is for young 'uns.
suppose thats true...i buy discs where i can cause its cheaper but yeah if you go all digital then suppose you would need more...fair enough
...and i have a usb but dont really use it...got so could clear my wii u memory when thought had an error but was all good...just kept it for extra data should i need
Yes, we sold our x-box one as most of the games are aimed at adults. Not much choice for kids. My 2 love the wii u, such a great, fun, family console
Pretty silly to get one now then the price will plummet after that but some games will go rare.
Next nintendo it is
