The NF-P12 has been specifically developed for applications such as CPU coolers that demand superior pressure and airflow performance. Thanks to psychoacoustic optimizations like the Vortex-Control Notches, the SCD drive system and Noctua's premium-grade SSO-Bearing, the NF-P12 achieves exceptional quietness and long-term stability.

Proven NF-P12 Design
Tens of thousands of quiet cooling enthusiasts swear by Noctua's classic NF-P12. Its impressive quietness, excellent performance and impeccable, time-tested quality made the P12 a default choice for 120mm quiet cooling.

Pressure-optimised Nine-Blade Design Specifically developed for high-impedance applications such as CPU coolers, water-cooling radiators or cases with tight fan grills, the NF-P12 provides outstanding pressure and airflow performance.

SSO-Bearing
Combining the proven concept of hydrodynamic bearing with an additional magnet that supports the self-stabilisation of the rotor axis, Noctua's time-tested technology has become synonymous with supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability.

Vortex-Control Notches
Noctua's signature Vortex-Control Notches split up trailing edge vortices and thus spread the fan's noise emission over a wider range of frequencies. This measure makes the NF-P12 sound more pleasant to the human ear.

Features

  • Award-winning NF-P12 120x25mm fan with Nine-Blade Design and Vortex-Control Notches for superior quiet cooling performance
  • Pressure-optimised blade design provides high static pressure and strong airflow for air-based CPU coolers, water cooling radiators or low-noise case ventilation
  • 3-pin version provides 1300/1100/900rpm speed settings via Low-Noise Adaptors to fine-tune the fan for maximum airflow or near-silent operation
  • Includes anti-vibration mounts, fan screws, Low-Noise & Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors, extension cable and 3:4-pin adaptor for powering the fan directly from the power supply
  • Trusted Noctua quality with premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150.000 hours MTTF, backed up with 6-year manufacturer’s warranty

this fan is only 1300 rpm and you can get a 1700 rpm version in the nicer grey colour for the same price from overclockers and the delivery is cheaper, say £4.49 on amazon but only £3.99 on overclockers

    overclockers Noctua NF-P12 Redux 1700rpm

FYI: The grey redux fans mentioned in this thread as an alternative are not the same. They are the budget line.

The NF-P12 Redux is a revived version of this model, based on techpowerup.com/rev…wm/ "it gets a visual makeover in the form of a gray and gunmetal gray color scheme as opposed to the tan-and-brown color scheme that has become Noctua's identifier, however polarizing. The essentials are intact, however, with their excellent SSO bearing still in use here."

I can't find any other evidence that the listed fan differs from the redux variant. In the video you linked, they never compare it against the non-redux variant.

This shouldn't be compared with Noctua's other lineup like the A12, which are £30 and are better than the P12 series.

How can a fan like this cost this much. Literally ten years ago this used to cost £5-6... Even then people said its over priced. I get inflation and cost of living bit this is taking the biscuite honestly

You have no idea what you are talking about, this is the cheapest 'normal' price ever for these fans (i.e. not refurb, 3rd party, bulk buy). I've had them in my basket for the past 12 years so I know how the price goes up and down.
I just bought 2 now without having any need for them whatsoever, because one day I will need them and then they will be well worth what I paid for them.

Doesn't appear to be PWM, probably why it's on discount

Your right it isn't the PWM version, but even this version is usually £20+

Great fans, but as a warning, they are LOUD

<20db is not loud, it is super quiet. noctua are known for their performance per db. ANd these are mid-low rpm ones. (edited)

Decent price for a very good fan.
If only the non-ugly ones were the same price.

Thank you for the deal, looking to finally replace the corsair h100i v2 cpu fans that I bought in 2017 with something quieter - will track the pwm version for any price drops

Possible to convert to usb A?

usb is 5v, so would need to step up to 12v. There are adaptors for that.

I can remember the time when I used to think people were crazy for spending £15-£20 on a fan.  For many years I had gotten by on the £5 fan just fine, the only problem was they became noisier after a few months and eventually had to be changed.

I thought I'd give Noctua fans a shot, to see how the other half live and I haven't stopped using them since.

This NF-P12 was a Halo Noctua fan back in the day, but it's been superseded by newer designs.

I'm not sure how useful 3-pin is these days though.  Motherboards used to be fine adjusting a 3-pin fan but then we went 4-pin PWM control.   Does anyone know if some motherboards can still modulate fanspeed using 3-pin?

My favourite 120mm Noctua fans have been the NF-F12 PWM for coolers and NF-S12A PWM for case fans.
I've just bought a used pair of Noctua's most recent 120mm fans, the NF-A12x25 PWM to evaluate.  They are meant to be a multipurpose fan so I mean to test them well.  I wouldn't pay the full asking price for a Noctua if I can get a good deal second-hand.  These fans are built so well that they last for years, money well spent.

I don't know of any motherboards, but I am sure there are external fan controllers that could do the job.

    I would guess something like
    amazon.co.uk/Pha…CRM
might be able to do the job. Some fan controllers support 3 pin, but just set them to 100%, so need to do more resreach.
