I bought one recently for my daughter, I banned her using smart phone, she wasn't happy. I confirm it's £13.50 no need to top up.

I bought this phone recently & it was unlocked & had 2 sims slots so useful. I also didn't have to pay for credit so got it for £13.50. The box contained an EE sim. I ordered online for collection.

Very helpful comment especially mentioning 2 sim slots and more importantly not having to top up if ordered online and collected 👏

Definitely £13.50 with no need to buy airtime. I’ve just bought it.

how? it says on the argos website you have to buy it with airtime? I would like one of these to keep in the car on giffgaff as an emergency phone. No need for the airtime for me though as I have the giffgaff sim already and it has credit.

Definitely not locked, they're not allowed to sell locked devices anymore.

I believe they are allowed to sell old stock but they unlock it for you.

Or you know, elderly people who struggle with touchscreens or use it as a works phone, or a cheap phone to take to an event where you have a higher risk of breaking your phone..? (edited)

The battery life is surprisingly short, I was expecting to get like a months battery on standby with this phone.... No it drains in a couple days doing nothing but idle.

That was on old 2G phones, 4G uses a lot more power idle I believe

Very useful link. Thank you. Can I just add this here as it is particularly applicable to EE

    Skip this Nokia, it's awful!
Screen is dreadful, texts not sorted in any way, buttons feel mushy (like my old 105 which went faulty with crappy buttons).

I returned it and got this Alcatel instead, much better (also 4G) -

Bigger screen, texts are sorted in by contact, not just a huge list of all your texts.
I didn't have to buy airtime with it, just the cost of the phone and stuck my smarty SIM in it. (edited)

Other than to make phone calls, what’s the use case for this device?

    I’m asking for a friend.

I have this phone, bought from a similar deal here. Came with a Vodafone SIM, which didn't need any top up.

Only facing 2 issues with it:
    1. The charger port is old micro USB (not USB C)

    2. Kid, for some odd reason, doesn't want to use it! (Although always wanted a phone)

    direct on the website.
Handset must be purchased with £10 airtime. This will automatically be added to your transaction. Handset not available without airtime. .

it probably wont but your best off with buying an old samsung or iphone off of ebay if you want hotspot only

Noted that this will do 4g hifi calling.
Haven’t spotted anything suggesting it can do Wi-Fi calling.

Nokia website makes bold claims for battery runtime! And mentions a battery saver mode. Also shows screen with a large battery level graphic - which, if real, might be useful (or even needed) for some aged parents…

I just bought one. I tried to unlock it on the EE site and the page crashes after I have typed in the IMEI number. Any suggestions

You can ring Customer Service for free, I think the number is 150 from your handset, and see if they can take your details.

Anybody know if this has a working T9 predictive text? The last model lacked the option to change the word it predicted, making the prediction no good.
