Details

There's mood lighting, and then there's Philips Ambilight. LED lights around the edge of the screen glow and change colour in sync with what you're watching – it's a little bit magical. The OLED screen looks fantastic. It's got pixels that can be individually dimmed or turned off – that means deeper blacks, bright vivid colours and awesome contrast. The P5 Engine brings extra depth and smooth motion to everything you watch. Contrast's enhanced on HDR content, so you'll be able to pick out details in light and dark scenes.

Good to know

- Dolby Atmos virtual surround sound makes it seem like the action is happening all around you
- Everything looks gloriously real thanks to Dolby Vision technology
- HDR 10+ support brings out even more detail without washed out images
- Android TV is packed with apps, including Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV
- Make the most of your console with auto ultra-low-latency settings, HDMI 2.1, VRR, and - of course - Ambilight
- Create a multi-room or surround sound setup with DTS Play-Fi speakers and sound bars

I love this. Been waiting for price to drop.
Worth noting that the new 808 coming out this year DOESN'T support hue sync with other lights in your house.
Philips have annoyingly dropped the feature.

Probably so you have to buy the hue sync box for £230

Richer Sound wouldn't price match as Currys are only offering a 2 year warranty so it would be £1099 with the VIP offer they've got at the moment

With Richer Sounds VIP, do they offer 6 years warranty and does that include screen burn?

Can anyone help, got a 3-4 year old philips 58” Ambilight (58PUS7304) and the screen is so glossy and reflective that I can see more of what’s happening out the window than the tv picture. It’s wall mounted flat which doesn’t help.

Is this better on an OLED version such as this? Really want to keep Ambilight but it’s the one aspect I hate about the tv and would move to OLED if it made a big difference.

Alternatively are there any Ambilight models with a more matt screen, love the Samsung frame screens which has pretty minimal reflection but again want to keep the Ambilight.

Any help greatly appreciated! This looks like a great deal, looking for 65 inch tho (edited)

Should Richer Sounds price match this? I am out of touch with this and would prefer RS 6 year warranty

Call RS and see what they say.

Shame the 48" is more pricey than this. A 55 wouldn't fit in the space we have.

Was hoping 65 would be in line, just seems like the 55 has dropped

Sorry to say the 65 dropped and sold out yesterday within a couple of hours, the price dropped to the same level as the 55.

I had to wait for wifely approval, but put an order in last night for the 55 (we already have a 48" 707 in the bedroom, wall mounted; and are very impressed with that), should be here tomorrow.

We like the Ambilight and find OLED doesn't give my wife migraines (like nearly every other technology).
I had considered waiting for the 808, but decided this price was too good to ignore, and the old TV (a Samsung plasma) has started to have artefacts appearing on screen.

How does this compare to the c3

Reviews say the channel list/TV guide is flaky and you can't change the channel order.

I've had TVs like that before and it sucks. With my current Panny Plasma, I'm able to set the TV guide to only show the channels I want and in the order I want and I wouldn't spend £1000 on a new TV that doesn't let me do that.

This or the Samsung s92c OLED? I am able to get the S92C for around 1.1k

Probably this if your room isn’t bright. The ambilight is great and Dolby Vision support.

Samsung for brightness and 144Hz compared Philips 120Hz

A minimum of £25 delivery, and no collection option!
    Chris_Lillywhite's avatar
As it's "clearance", its probably being shipped from a central distribution centre.
It's still £270 cheaper than Thursday's best price, and £470 cheaper than RSP even given the delivery charge.

Am I right in thinking the 807 has 4 sided amblight but the 808 only has 3 sided, also I see the 808 now has Google 12 where the 807 had Android 11 is Google better?
