Reading a review of this and it mentions the ad-filled software. Anyone know what this means and how bad it is? I don't know much about miui (edited)

It's not the worst thing in the world, you can disable all (if not most of them). You just need to search up what to disable.

The biggest downside would be the "MIUI optimisation", some permissions and other niche bits can't be given to apps.

I would suggest for anyone that gets it to immediately look into moving to the xiaomi.eu rom, much better experience but if you don't want to mess with custom roms, it's still an exceptional phone for the price. (edited)

I'm currently using this phone and it's excellent. I previously had a 9T Pro but this is an amazing step up from that.

    Rooted, Xiaomi.EU ROM.

This is a good deal but considering the equivalent was on here in July 2021 (Poco X3 Pro) with almost identical spec (Snapdragon 860, 8GB/256GB, 6.67in 120hz, for £110 LESS, you see how consumers have been getting screwed since. I think Xiaomi as a brand has also moved upmarket, giving them to ability to push their margins more. Maybe RealMe are the decent spec value kings now? (edited)

The X series apart from the GT variants have a lot of trouble as in the phone just bricking due to bad soldering.
I'm not brand loyal in any way shape or form whne I need a better phone i will just see what the best specs are for the money

Good Deal but too similar to the F3. I used the F3 as my daily driver for quite a while and it served me well. Great phone and I'm sure the F4 will be no different. I'd wait for the F5 with the SD 7+ Gen 2 chip. There's just nothing exciting about the F4 and I actually think Xiaomi have fallen down the pecking order. They are not what they once were.

Very true, currently daily driving a f3 on the xiaomi.eu rom.

The base f5 seems to be a downgrade from what I've seen though, better soc, better battery but worse cameras and if it launches with the f4 msrp...

You only really have to charge the f4 once a day and it's super fast already, so it just seems bad for price to performance.

I think it would be better to just get the f4 for someone who needs a phone right now.

Just ordered it for a test 14 days trial, 8/256 and looks quite fast.

I did compare it with my previous honor view 20, that phone was the best, I would keep it forewer, but due display damaged, frame bent a bit...
need to get some relible and not expencive.

Having now xiaomi 13 pro, Its terrific, returning on monday.
