I can't believe this has come on offer. This treadmill was my first choice and lol I'm really annoyed with myself for not waiting for this to come on offer, especially when I had a feeling it would. I bought the A6 from my last deal but this really is a crazy price for a top of the range treadmill, 3.0hp motor, Bluetooth 20kmph top speed. If you've got space and like me you're not bothered about folding it away this really is a fantastic price.

I hope it helps someone.

He basically said it's a semi commercial treadmill and because it's flat rather than foldaway, so it's much better than any foldaway. You'll be hard pushed to find anything this good anywhere near this priceHave a look at this review for the next model up. [Video]

Nowhere near a commercial in terms of output or durability. A 3HP rated motor isn't the same as 3CHP rated motor - a bit naughty in terms of the way it's advertised.

When buying a treadmill, you'd be advised to look at the continuous horsepower rating, effectively rating the power output that the motor can churn out indefinitely. HP only describes the peak power output.

So this 3HP motor is actually a 1.5CHP motor.

Home gym, you'd want 2.5-3CHP for jogging / moderate running. Commercial, you'd want 5CHP.

Having said that, the price is a significant discount over retail, but it's important to note that Ikon fitness (proform P900 - £850, bristol warehouse), or Horizon fitness (£1050) treadmills are better engineered (3-4 CHP) for a moderate price differential at costco.

I know you are defending your deal but commentd like "and because it's …I know you are defending your deal but commentd like "and because it's flat rather than foldaway" simply aren't true. Of course the guy on the other end of the phone at reebok is going to tell you it is great, that is what a salesman does. My folding nordictrack is continuous 3hp with a higher top speed and great cushioning etc. I bought used, like new on ebay for £110. I checked the service menu and it had racked up 1 hour use in total. Bargain. Ifit subs can be bought cheaply on ebay BTW as other people sell theirs.I'm glad you are enjoying yours and I'm sure this would suit a lot of people, but I think you would be equally happy with alternatives.Personally I would suggest picking up low use ones on ebay for peanuts. I've bought 4 for friends at a max price of £150 with all being like new with rrp of £1k or more. And if they did blow up you could buy another 3 anyway.

Honestly speaking it's not about defending the deal at all. The deal is there for itself for people to decide on themselves. I was just being honest and helpful.

yeah I do believe a true flat treadmill is going to be far better than a foldaway equivalent. The research suggests that, a foldaway has to have sacrifices made to it to allow it to be a foldaway whereas a standard non folding doesn't.

Yes they'll be expensive foldaways that are great and will be better than this Reebok and I'm not denying that.

What you said about buying from eBay can be said about pretty much every single deal on here.

Yes great that you managed to get what is clearly an amazing deal on eBay but there's no way I'd have gotten anything like that. I just wouldn't want the risk, the time hassle, the stress etc but great for you it worked.

I know this because I had a good look on eBay, gum tree etc, pretty much everyone wants you to pick it up. So the hassle of somehow arranging pickup, checking it out, getting it home, setting it up and all on top of a what for me is a huge risk, forget it definitely not for me.

I'd much much much rather have peace of mind, knowing I bought something for the reasons I've already mentioned. Plus sometimes it's nice to buy something new.

Regarding your comment of buying another 3 for the money you've spent, yeah true but again the hassle and stress of disposal etc forget it.

The guy at Reebok, I spoke to him about a number of Reebok treadmills and no he wasn't a sales man as they can't sell direct. For example he said don't bother with the jet 300+ as it's not worth the £300 extra over the jet 300. He said the difference is just a tablet add on and everything else between the jet 300 and the 300+ is the same. He also said that the cheaper SL8 is far better than the jet 300+ because it's flat and non folding and not aimed at the usual retail market. His comment was they sell a lot to physios etc and it's why they see it as a semi commercial treadmill. He said the build quality on the SL8 was far superior to their usual retail foldaway and non folding treadmills like the float rides, jet 300 etc. (edited)

How do you work that out, it cost me £165 for a year and a half of a family subscription. You can pick up really cheap deals on Black Friday and you get a sub when you buy the treadmill.

You actually have to go to the gym, get changed, get COVID, and run with strangers and you still don't get trainers/coaches, history lessons, runs through cities and hills, desserts and forests, heart rate integration etc.

All for the low cost of about £40 a month if your lucky and being tied into a membership you'll have a hell of a time trying to cancel.

    That's madness. (edited)

I agree with you. This is a great price for this treadmill with a fine motor for home use. I also feel that a solid deck will always beat a folding deck - makes total sense to me.

I bought a secondhand Horizon folding treadmill from ebay and I was lucky that I got one from a decent dude. I had to drive to see it and then pay a team of white van men to collect it, which I was worried about. It all turned out ok but I was nervous...

The examples of people buying hardly used £1000+ treadmills at £150 is not typical at all - mine was £400 in great condition and then another £100 for it to be delivered. No warranty, no guarantee.

    This is a great deal.

I think this is a waste of time for most folk, you really need something …I think this is a waste of time for most folk, you really need something to watch or keep you motivated i think. I went for a Nordictrack 20i because it was ifit compatible.Think Peloton but no screen, you use an existing tablet / phone etc and the ifit app.It controls the treadmill incline / speed etc, integrates with heart rate monitors and slows down / speeds up depending on how much work you are putting it and what HR "zone" the trainer wants you to be in. What that means is, you could be a big fella who can run about as far as the front door, but it will actively adapt to YOUR fitness level. There are loads of courses/countries/challenges to do, from walks to runs to hikes etc and and the trainers are brilliant, giving you the history on places as your run through them for example, its not all hyper happy americans by any means. Plus - its WAY cheaper than Peloton, both for the Treadmill and Subscription.

I think it's all about preferences, back in the days where I used treadmills at the gym, I'd watch a premier league match and next thing I'd know I've been on the treadmill for over an hour, sweated like crazy as I was in the zone.

I've seen the ifit n co videos and I must admit at this moment in time I find them utterly boring, I can't think of anything worse than watching a video of someone running in some other part of the world. I much prefer getting my escapism on the treadmill by getting into the zone either blasting music through Spotify or watching something on Netflix, Disney etc either on the tablet in front of me or on the TV.

Finally it's also about cost for me, most people have a budget of £500 given the Reebok gt40 deal that comes on here at £460 ish, so for me £560 for the A6 being a better machine was definitely worth it, this one at £650 would have been my extreme upper limit. If I was to spend anything more it would have to be that I've gotten so fit from my first treadmill that I'm ready for the next big jump up in cost.

Completely agree with what you've said about HP to CHP, I've researched it and discussed it at length in other deals.

However for me it was important to buy from Costco with their great customer service and that all Reebok's come with 10 year motor warranty.

So the way I figured it if I don't like it for whatever reason Costco will take it away without any issue which literally no one else will do, plus the Reebok treadmills on Costco are part of their full satisfaction guarantee whereas a lot of other makes are not.

So if somehow I manage to kill the motor, which firstly I'll be delighted as I'm hoping it'll mean I've used it so much that I'm in amazing condition, well then the 10 year Reebok warranty will kick in with Costco's promise of always sorting it out. So as far as I see it it's a win win for me. If for whatever reason rebook can't fix it or won't fix it so long as I'm a member of costco, I'll get full refund which is unheard of anywhere else.

The other ones you mentioned are very good and Costco do or have sold them or similar models in the past. But to me they cost a lot more and some of them state they are outside of Costco satisfaction guarantee and don't have a 10 year motor warranty.

Finally for me it's also about psychological price point. The Reebok 40 something gets rave reviews on here at £460 ish so for me I'm happy to spend that little bit more like I did on the A6 to get a lot more machine but creeping closer to the £1k just isn't for me or my limited pocket. I'm the same. The prices are varied. The only thing I would say is that then buying exercise equipment buy quality. A work out is hard enough without fighting the equipment. The solo and Nordic tracks get good reviews but price wise they are up there and is it worth the extra cash?

Lol welcome to my world. Another reason I needed to buy from Costco with their great return policy.

The running track is 20cm from the ground. I rang Reebok they assured me all their machines are 20cm. Definitely worth you ringing them yourself. Argos Q&A says 20cm as well.

I went into Costco, they had a Proform in store and that was also bang on 20cm.

I read online allow around 6 inches from the top of your head when standing on the treadmill but it also comes down to your running style.

Matrix write their blurb as "3.25HP (continuous duty)" - its 3.25CHP, not 3.25HP

Which is fine for a light duty commercial, especially one from a few years back.

I just wouldn't have one for a commercial gym, knowing how they get treated during cutting season. Sprints and dynamic speed changes burn a motor out quickly.
