Everyone seems to be going crazy for the X260 at £106 from newandusedlaptops4u, you can have the newer X270 for under £100 here. Don't forget the promo code to get this price.

Yes, it has it's flaws, including 'only' dual-core i5 and an HD TN display but it's under £100 (which is a bit of a psychological barrier) and it's compact, durable and from a decent retailer with a year warranty. Likely it'll run Chrome OS Flex as well or Linux if you prefer.

It has one accessible SO-DIMM slot and USB C for charging and data (an improvement over the X260 and very convenient). Should have both batteries from ITZOO. I doubt there are many better all-round systems for under £100 today.

Buy two - one for you to use and one for Christmas! Be warned, if you really are putting it away for months without use, you might find the batteries completely dead when you come back to it and they won't be under warranty. Also, there is a chance you will find something better nearer Christmas if inflation gets back into check - remember we have summer holiday school rush soon, this is usually when deals pop up and leases may be switched out with refurbs sold on cheap.

Will this be ok for general browsing and using word and teams

More than adequate. I've been using a 12 year old I3 for word/teams/excel with no issues. Slightly slow ut does the job. This will be fine

Just checking, do these come with a charging cable?

Yes - normally an OEM one. They will also charge with USB C. (edited)

    Nice and cheap sofatop.

Will it allow you to lurk on the web, do standard office tasks and play older games - YES.

Screen is a bit "meh" but the build quality is tank like.

Yes, the screen is the big letdown here, but I think we can let it slide - though you can upgrade yourself if you want. As someone else said, there have been reports of getting the FHD IPS display anyway but it's not guaranteed. If you happen to get it, even more of a bargain.

ITZOO Product Description states 1366x768 screen but blurb further down shows 1920x1080. Similar confliction when I bought the X260 recently there. They sent me a 1920x1080 then (and a Lenovo 90W power brick!).

I was working on the assumption that it's HD TN only but it's good that you got the FHD IPS one (a huge upgrade) - I suspect they have some mixed in there but I didn't want to tell people they might get it but don't.

    Same.

Lovely wee thing and wonderful keyboard. Which seems to be backlit too.

Thanks, not a bad price for £97. Will reply with what i get in a few days time. Useful to run diagnostics on other equipment.

EDIT: Does anyone know if RAM is removable or soldered? (edited)

From memory when this was posted the other day, one slot for RAM.

Looks like it. I didn’t post it long ago. I am surprised no one else had but ITZOO really hasn’t listed much this year.

Good to see Itzoo getting competitive again. I have a X270 FHD from them at a similar price last year. Great machine. But 1920x1024 does test the eyes so a HD X270 need not be a great disappointment if your vision is not A1.

Someone has found they have Grade A systems for a little more, here:

Still worth the money imo if you missed this.

Got mine, works fine so far. Anyone opened it up? Wondering if I could expand storage..?
    plewis00's avatar
    plewis00 Author
It’s easy to open (make sure you remove the slide out tray on the side) - have a nylon pry tool or bank card handy. Storage should be an M.2 on this model. You might as well upgrade the RAM to 16GB while there.

Anyone find their site tricky to navigate? Can never find where the basket is???
    plewis00's avatar
    plewis00 Author
Yes, it’s quite annoying, sluggish, renders badly on mobile and not all the items appear properly unless you search directly. Not sure what is going on there.
