Powered by AirStrike™ technology this nail gun fires 18 Gauge (1.2mm) nails between 15 and 50mm long with two firing modes geared towards precision and speed. Dry-Fire lockout prevents the tool working without nails loaded to prevent damage to the tool and surfaces and the low nail indicator feature lets you know when it’s time to reload.

Tool-less jam release and depth of drive adjustment helps protect work surfaces and allows proper setting of nail heads.

    Is this better than getting a heavier gauge nail gun? I've only got budget for one, just trying to work out whether I get this or a bigger boy...

    Depends on the jobs you do... 18 gauge is for skirting board, architrave, lightweight mouldings etc - for anything heavier duty you'd want a 16 gauge (still considered a finishing nailer) for jobs like floorboards etc. Framing nailers are a completely different league altogether

    Basically 18 gauge;
    Smaller diameter so requires less filling/sanding to hide holes (if any)
    Less likely to split finer timber
    Struggles with thicker wood

    16 gauge;
    Bigger nail so stronger grip
    Will fire through thicker timber
    Creates larger hole so needs more finishing
    Much more likely to split fine timber (like architrave) (edited)

    I was having the same issue, repeated contact with no response. Then my tool turned up after weeks of waiting

    the cheapest you can ever get that battery is £50 and thats if you buy two on offer. So £150 for that nailer is probably the best price you will ever get.. I got the 16G for £162 and thought i was berty big balls but this is a scorchio deal

    Me too! Had been waiting for Amazon to drop the bare tool down to £129 again, but the battery and accessories make this a perfect pack if you just want a nail gun and aren't in Ryobi's ecosystem already - all my other kit is Makita or Hikoki, but their nail guns are considerably more expensive

    Excellent deal. I bought one of these to replace an air powered one I was using and it's so much better being cordless. If I hadn't already got one I'd be buying it like a shot at this price.

    Great deal!! Id be all over this if it was a 16g or 15g!

    Already have the 18g and doesn't get much use as i manly just bodge stuff together with pallet wood.... and this doesn't quite cut it

    I've got the 16g version of this and it's an awesome tool albeit big and heavy.

    Currently cladding the stairs with plywood, finished with a redwood bullnose that I've routed to shape.
    Makes light work of it and then I'm looking for my next project, one of the most useful tools you can have in your arsenal.

    The Ryobi ones are highly regarded. (edited)

    Showing 4.4% Topcashback (premium acc) for me so might get £6-7 extra back. Very tempted even though have the 16g and trying to resist but haven’t treated myself for Father’s Day yet!

    Going to be building a planter box soon so this would come in handy. Are battery power nailers much less powerful than air compressing ones?
    Bad.Actor's avatar
    Google search on your question threw up this as the first result.

    Seems to sum it up pretty well.

    This the right size for roof battens?
    Paulwf12's avatar
    No, Ryobi UK don't do a nailer suitable for battens

    I had to repair some fences the other day with new top side and top pieces, made it a breeze compared to hammering nails in, however I would reccomend you do use stainless nails for outdoor use as everything else is going to rust and they aren't very big nails to start with.

    This is a 2nd fox nailer fyi. Won’t be useful for anything other than finishing.
    AlphaFox's avatar
    Would it be good enough for skirting?
  16. Rooster25's avatar
    Why will they not deliver to Northern Ireland.
  17. AlphaFox's avatar
    This is their 2nd Gen nailer. For some reason they removed the bump fire mode for the 2nd gen. For that reason alone I'll stick to buying their 1st gen.
