Good price for this, I think. Sequential Read/Write speeds up to 550/520 MB/s. Pretty decent SATA SSD.

Note this is the older 860 QVO.

The newer one is the 870 QVO that came out in 2020.

So the 860 is slightly older technology and is slower than the 870.

Here is an article comparing the two. While it says buy the 860 over the 870 that was written 2 years ago when prices were higher.

How does this compare to the crucial BX or MX models?

i wouldnt buy storage from amazon as sometimes you will get an old returned drive or a different drive with a sticker on it this is an old model too so even more likely on this one

Are you saying this for reliability issues? Or only performance wise? Would the 860 QVO not be suitable for the average user (me) who just wants to upgrade from standard HDD to an SDD?

£85 is the lowest I've seen from Amazon for that model. It's often over £100.

    Really?
Barely worth it for a QLC SSD at this price, let alone £85+, lol!
Its only saving grace is that is has DRAM cache. (edited)

Sorry for a dumb question but would this be ok for an upgrade of my current internal ssd 256 gb drive in my Dell laptop? If yes how would I install Windows after new drive is used?
