But having picked up a £35 kindle fire on Black Friday, it's amazing to be able to increase the capacity by 8x for a tenner! Ordered and voted hot. Thanks

It's not that amazing really. What's amazing is that you can't with said iPhone/ipad yet they still sell in their millions, amazing.

I've read a few places that this specific card is quite unreliable with 1 guy stating he has had 5 just suddenly stop working and losing all his photos

Stupid question maybe but will this go in my camera with the adapter?

    Helpful answer.

As long as your camera supports Standard SD, this will work fine. some devices say they can only support up to (for example 32GB) but most of the time that's just because it was biggest card available when it was made. ignore the above comment.

As an android and windows user I always had these amazing benefits increasing storage capacity of my devices for next to nothing other then being sold small capacity over priced very old tech. Hmmmmm what you say...

brilliant, do you feel special telling everyone that?
You mean 'can't use one' rather than 'don't need one' though don't you?

Don't know if it's connected but I'd read Sandisk ones are no good in dashcams particularly because of the way they handle sectors that die, one goes and the whole card becomes read only rather than it just marking it not to be used and carrying on like other cards.

Maybe you could've said that first then, rather than coming across as rude and unhelpful - or maybe just kept your comments to yourself and not answered at all.

If it is greater than 32GB it’ll have to be SDXC, not HC (which can only be as capacious as 32GB and no more). Implicitly, this also, er, implies, that the filesystem will also have to be exFAT. It’s not necessarily the case that a device that predates SDXC can use one if formatted as FAT (or any other filesystem formatting that can give greater than 32GB contiguous space). The pinout differs in terms of voltage, also (as in, it goes lower for UHC bus operation, and the device it is in might not be able to do that).

The golden rule is, read your fair king manual* — if it says SDXC, then it can. If it says micro size, it can take the micro size without the adaptor, otherwise, use the adaptor to bring it up to size.

*or the manual for whatever device you’re intending to use. Really, they’re not boring (well, yes they are often) and they’re not confusing (hmm, no, they’re often highly obtuse) but I can guarantee that each time I’ve read bits of the manual for something I own, I’ve come out of the experience knowing some tiny thing more, raising my appreciation of my tool.

My understanding is regardless of the online price, if you have reserved for collection instore, it's the instore price on the day of collection you pay

Sorry to cause alarm, here's Argos's pricing policy:
"You will pay the lower price if you take proof of your valid reservation and confirm to the store the lower price before paying. Please note if you do not inform the staff that you reserved it at the lower price, or if your reservation has expired, the price to pay would be the current selling price on the day"

Got one of these and spent ages copying loads of music albums onto it. Got constant errors every few minutes and had to dismount and remount it, then allow Windows to check it out before proceeding. Took me a whole evening to finally get stuff copied to it.
Then I found out my car media system only supports up to 32GB anyway!
