Can be taken from portable case and installed into PS4 for much greater storage capacity.

Hard drive is 'Spinpoint M9T 2TB 2.5" 9.5 mm drive'.

Product Description:

The Seagate Backup Plus portable drive simplifies backups for consumers who want to protect their entire digital life, stored locally, in the cloud or on social networks. Via the Seagate Dashboard, the Protect function enables you to set up a one-click backup plan, or set up customised backup schedules. With the Save feature, user-generated content can be backed up from your favourite social networks.

Many people now use their smartphones to capture priceless moments and, while these devices are handy and readily available, storage is not their strong point. Capture a memory, post it on a social networking site and let the Seagate Dashboard automatically back up any content posted. Even if the file is deleted accidentally from the device, another copy can be waiting. The Share feature allows multiple files to be uploaded to social networks at once from your computer, so the days of uploading individual files without creating a new album are gone, simply select the files to upload, choose where to post them and even add comments.

Managing your social profile has never been easier; install the preloaded NTFS driver for Mac and use the drive interchangeably between PC and Mac computers, without having to reformat the drive. For even more flexibility, thanks to the Seagate Backup Plus design, you can upgrade from the USB 3.0 interface (included) to the faster Thunderbolt technology or FireWire 800 with the optional adapter (sold separately).

It does seem that there is a 9.5mm drive inside the enclosure. It does … It does seem that there is a 9.5mm drive inside the enclosure. It does also seem that at this moment in time there are too many issues with drive and the ps4 not booting correctly. That unfortunately made me not collect my reservation today. So the wait for a fox now begins or a 2tb drive that works in all circumstances!

Looks like turning off HDCP off in PS4 with FW 1.70 fixes the no display cold boot issue.

You remove the external case, and take the hard drive and install into the PS4 ...

This is £109.99 and contains the 'Spinpoint M9T 2TB 2.5" 9.5 mm drive'. The drive on it's own costs £149.99 and isn't launched yet, see here - amazon.co.uk/Sam…OQ4

Word of warning, the m9t is not fully compatible with the ps4 yet.
The drive works fine in the ps4 but on cold boot it will give you the blod.

I am no expert, but I was under the impression that the Spinpoint M9T 2TB 2.5" 9.5 mm drive has not been released yet? (Its release date seems to be the 31/3/2014)

Surely if this 2TB External Drive is in stock then it cannot contain that drive (as it is not available yet)... plus I do not know of ANY other 2TB 9.5mm drive, so could it be 12mm?
