    Finding £145 (ish) as the cheapest 6TB HDD - via the PC part picker which is pretty good for the bargains, seeing as the 6TB is cheaper than the 4TB on the same deal, well, sums it up really. I needed a new back up drive, so cheers OP.

They're much slower than traditional drives, and are designed to archive data while theoretically keeping it safer for longer than other drives. They aren't meant to write and read data all the time. If you need something to jam all your photos and videos on this'll do nicely. If you try to use it as a game drive or for a NAS, it's gonna be very slow and get very hot and probably conk out in a year or two.


    Just like regular Seagate drives then.
