This is cheaper than any of the other deals though so deserves its own post.

How are these on reliability? the case looks sealed, how does it cool?

and is it vertical only? i thought that tended to kill drives quicker

The other ones did not list price - quidco earnings as the final price, some people do not quidco so is not accurate.

how much warranty does this have?

Quidco is not to be included in final price.

Laughable, as is the quoted "review". Anyone stupid enough to use ANY form of media without backup has only one source of blame - the idiot that looks out at them from the mirror.

most people buy an external hdd to backup up their main data in the 1st place

It is feasible that your main HDD and External HDD canl go tit's up at the same time, but not to worry for £1400 you'll be laughing :whistling:

If quidco works properly, this'd be the cheapest deal on the FreeAgent disk. But for some reason, my quidco never works. I've tried all the ways, e.e. dedicate Firefox for quidco-related orders, clear all cookies & caches BEFORE logging in to quidco, follow the link to the merchant from quidco website, etc. But my quidco never works :-".

stick with maplin, they have it for £74.99 in store. why wait days for this to be delivered to save a lousy 5 quid?

As laptops get more popular, people are using these external drives as expanded storage, not specifically back up.

Ok so people can buy 2 of these and have them both back up but thats a bit ****

i'd take the freecom drives over these, £70 delivered from amazon

dont know why people think these seagate drives are specifically good, the design is poor and the price is no better than competitors. seagate make good bare drives but others make better external solutions

I've got one and had no problem with it at all, on 24/7. Saying that I wouldn't buy another one as they are bulky/clunky things and take up too much room, can't be stacked etc. Iomega all the way for me (£69.99 for 500GB in Staples).

Do you use SpywareBlaster (SB) or any other ad/spyware cookie-blocking software by any chance? When I switched-off SB's cookie blocking in IE, Quidco started to work for me.
