    After a new pair but can't decide between these , Sony's and Bose 700/q45. Tried the soundcore q45 but returned them, think just worth paying the extra for the leap in quality . Any advice always welcome .

    what are you going to be using them for and what didn't you like about the soundcore ?

    sound quality/clarity - sennheiser
    comfort - Bose qc45
    phone/video calls - Bose 700
    noise cancelling and sound customisability - Sony xm5

    if on a budget ...
    Sony xm3 - great sound (better than xm4 in my opinion and not far off the xm5)
    Bose qc35ii - amazing comfort, microphones etc. great all rounder but no EQ. (edited)

    I listen to a track in the car for over 50 times, then when I put the Sennheisers on, I can hear new sounds in the tracks, lol

    Got these brand new when they came out last year for 300. Absolutely banging set of headphones, great sound, decent ANC, killer battery life (60 hours still blows my mind, get through a week using these as my work headset no problem).

    I do find the touch controls a bit finicky sometimes, and the app can be a bit eh (sometimes have connection issues when first setting them up to a new device).

    They are also pretty comfy, good ear padding (that will get warm with extended use, but not as bad as I had initially thought). Top band is ok for comfort, could've used maybe a bit more padding or a different material, but only noticeable after an hour or two.

    300 is a good price for this caliber of ANC headphones, so for this price, I would (anecdotally!) recommended them!

    They do fluctuate in price a lot, been tracking them for weeks and the blacks do often drop to €259.99 but I haven't yet pulled the trigger, when the Euro dropped they could be shipped here for £231.

    I sent the XM5s back as the multi connect didn't work properly with my Mac/phone and they don't sound great without EQ adjustment. Also slid around my head a fair bit.
