Get the stadium experience in your front room with this Sony X85L. Its 4K Full Array LED display brings more brightness, billions of vivid colours and accurate contrast to every scene by squeezing more LEDs into the entire screen. The brain behind the operation is the 4K HDR Processor X1. It analyses content and controls each zone in real time, so you see more detail and texture. With X-Motion Clarity technology, even fast-moving objects stay perfectly in focus so you'll have no trouble keeping up with the action. And Dolby Atmos uses the TV's speakers to create virtual surround sound, so you can bask in the roar of the crowd after that last minute winner.

Good to know

- 4K X-Reality PRO technology upscales older movies into 4K – your vintage movie marathon just got more epic
- You'll be able to see even the smallest of details in high-contrast scenes thanks to Auto HDR Tone Mapping
- With a 120 Hz refresh rate, gaming is silky smooth with no stuttering or screen tearing – the competition doesn't stand a chance
- Its seamless edge bezel keeps your eyes fixed on the screen, so you won't miss a single detail

This is a great TV, but I'm wondering if, for around £100 more can get an oled TV. I'm in a bit of a pickle now.... this or Oled (edited)

If you have bright room then this would be a better choice, for sports brighter image Is better, I have Oled and a older Sony full array TV both are good my full array TV is next to window so it performs better than my Oled as it gets bright enough to counter the sunlight. My Oled is a a80J excellent black levels but not very bright, but it's in dark Room.

Cheapest Oled would be 55 LG CS at 1099 not my favourite Oled as it is too dark And has older processor, 1299 for the c3 or the Sony A80L at 1599
To be honest this x85L has good black levels it's local dimming is really good ,off angle axis not so great but it's a VA panel so contrast is good

Is this the one with fewer dimming zones that's getting rave reviews

Having fewer dimming zones doesn't mean your picture quality will be worse,it's Sony's excellent control of its backlight, I've seen mini LED TVs that look terrible against this x85L because there backlight control is awful And tends to over brighten the image with washed out colours. This a good TV for the price, you can also step up to the x90L which has the XR processor And brighter panel
