Got the mx5 on prime day. As someone who owns the mx5, Bose qc (two versions) and akg ncm2 - I’d recommend the akg

Not saying these are not reasonable but I feel the akg and Bose are better sounding

I would suggest the opposite, I have Bose nc 700, Sony xm4 and I prefer xm4.

I ordered these "very good" November and they were pristine, just missing a USB cable.

Others had worse luck though - some even had substituted XM3s (cheeky customers lol):-

I, personally, kind of enjoy the gambling element of Amazon warehouse , obviously more so when you get something like new, and not a used older model! (edited)

thats an interesting thought, actually I have a pair of WH700s from a few years ago, I could buy a new pair of XM5s and then send them back with the 700s in. oops sorry I sent the wrong ones back. whoopsie doodle. Last time I got a refund from Amazon I had the money in my account before the package left the post office.
    Scary thought.

How good they are in the aircraft? I use my AirPods Pro 2 generation on travelling but most of the time after waking up on a plane starts the game called “Find my earplugs” 😃

they sound great - i take mine on planes and sometimes just wear them with NC on and no music, blocks out a ton of noise and makes it easier to sleep
i would recommend holding the CUSTOM button to perform a noise cancellation optimiser thing (adjusts NC according to pressure and other factors) when on a plane

Great price for these headphones - they continue to be the most comfy over ear ones I've tried lol. Thanks for sharing your first post, !

Real bargain was last week with the XM5s going for £186-196 from Amazon day warehouse deals, many got mint to good condition units including myself.

Loving these XM5s, surprised how good BT and Wireless technology has come and apparently the XM4s are not far off if not same or better then XM5s even.

I may sell my XM5 off when XM6 release late next year, there just that good. (edited)

Name checks out lol. You're right about the bluetooth technology getting better. I just got a brand new phone from this year, and when I connect my headphones to it I can get reception all though the house (victorian terrace lots of brick) but when I connect to my laptop or old phone it starts cutting out if I go into the kitchen.

MX4 has horrendous microphone and an absolute disaster for calls. Sound quality isn’t bad and are comfortable to where. I sent back and replaced with MX5 - microphone quality much better

I heard the xm4s are better for music? Not concerned about the mic for my use. What are your thoughts on which sounds better (edited)

Are these light? Because my current headphones feel too heavy I have the Philips PH805BK

These any good for use on conference calls?
    satyris's avatar
if you don't mind people on zoom looking at your headphones, they're amazing for calls.

How would these compare the the Phillips X2HDR's?
I have the above wired, but looking for a good set to be able to chill on sofa and stream from Tidal on my Samsung S23 Ultra (not flexing, just mentioning incase there's something that can be taken advantage of?)
