Just in from work checked ebay and bought one. Was gonna post it on here but ya beat me OP. Mucho heat added. A bargain me thinks. My old yamaha on eBay soon so watch out peeps and grab youself a bargain! lol
Can anyone suggest a reasonably-priced speaker set to go with this?

Also I'm still wary I can't really find any recognised reviews for this model online.
I am a novice to AV and I was planning on taking a plunge with the Onkyo Hifi to complement my telly, Blu ray and HD cable. What exactly is the point in an AV receiver in such a system compared to the hifi?

av can do surround sound

Hmmm Thanks. Is this a better investment than a Hifi, then?
previous post is located here and yes, I do think this is a brilliant deal for a budget unit.

I was considering selling my rxv467 but this uses a considerable amount of power...
Very old unit - hence it being cheap - stock clearance

Looks like a current model to me.... teac-audio.eu/en/…tml
Blinding specification for the price, a must purchase for anyone looking for a mid spec AV unit!!

Would have got one myself if it wasn't for the fact that I'm a happy Onkyo owner!

anyone buying anything from richer needs to look on their website for the vip section, normally a link at the bottom of the page under extras, sign up for the vip club and get a £10 voucher (print out yourself) to use towards your purchase!

Why do people say these things with such certainty? :-/
Ordered, thanks OP!
3 sold in last 5 mins - reckon the sherry's kicking in!

Right, just ordered one of these after reading the comments on the other deal, and figure this should allow for a decent upgrade from TV speakers for my blu collection.

Now to figure out how it works. I'd ideally like my PC and PS3 to go through it (currently both hooked to TV via HDMI), and also occasionally the TV sound to go through. Do I just use HDMi cables for that/will there be any compatibility issues?

Also any recommended set of 7 speakers?
posted yesterday
I take it this doesn't just pass-through the HDMI signals like my old AV setup and instead outputs the sound carried over HDMI?

This would mean I can do away with using the S/PDIF cables with my HTPC, Xbop 360, and PS3; while benefiting from surround sound from my Wii U via HDMI.

You buy some.
Oh well I'd be better looking for a package then
From 2009
This seems like a decent deal and with it being 530 watts power it must have quite a decent out put the same as any Onkyo as must lie about this so this is hot.

How would this compare to a Denon AV-2310?
Considering this..

Got some really nice speakers or Xmas. I have a Yamaha rx357 ( I believe) but I would like to upgrade.

Need to know if this plays 5.1+ over hdmi eyc for wii u, 360 etc ?
i have a pioneer surround with dvd, cost £275 about 4 years ago, is this better?
Yes much better though you would need to upgrade your speakers to.
Surely if it didnt play 5.1 over hdmi it would be utterly useless?
