sorted byProbably because it can peel off and then it looks a mess, is no longer non stick and becomes a nightmare to clean. Im not a fan of non stick for pans other than frying pans. It's just not worth it for pans that are boiling water or cooking sauces stews etc. (edited)

The handle doesn't need to be on the pan for it to be heating/cooking something.
You only use the handle for moving the pan and you've never moved two pans at the same time fgs 🤦♂️
E.g. Pan A and B are hot. You need to adjust Pan B > Take the handle off of Pan A > and put it into Pan B...
I'd recommend that you bookmark this comment so you can come back to it in case you get stuck on moving the handle from Pan B back to A

Coming from cheap university pans (which were nearly 10 years old) this is an amazing upgrade.

I think the frying pans, saute and the wok are non-stick. The sauce pans are uncoated.

Personally, I think it depends on the kind of non-stick. I use the copper stone/regis stone ones and they're fantastic. The non-stick is great even in the deep saucepans, especially if you're doing a stew on a slow boil for a couple of hours, and you're not the kind to wash them until the following morning. The "stuck" sauce just wipes right off; the veg doesn't burn and stick to the bottom - they're easy mode for cooking/cleaning, lmao.
The only thing they're missing is removable handles for oven use.

I got a lid from the JL set. Annoying we just bought the slightly smaller set 2 weeks ago. Been quite happy with it but time will tell.
So I got ripped off?
Did the John Lewis deal not come with 2 extra pans and a handle? I think that is better value than 1 glass lid in this bundle and more plastic utensils. Plus can get 3 glass draining lids for the saucepans in the JL deal for £23.
