The salesman I spoke to said that it was the first day for the deal and that it was going to go online soon. They are just sorting out the press for this.

sorted byTesco man says that Duration/Volume is in seconds e.g. 1959:22
To work out how much MB you have used take the number to the left of the colon of Total Duration/Volume - (1959)
Multiply by 60 (60 x 1959 = 117,540)
Add the number to the right of the colon (117,540 + 22 = 117,562)
Divide by 1024 (117,562 / 1024 = 114.81)
This gives the usage in MB (114.81MB) !
Hope that was useful for someone..
(first post btw :D)
Increasingly nowadays, networks are just quoting all their tarrifs to include unlimited and then hiding (or in tesco's case not showing at all) that it is capped in small print and terms and conditions to 500mb. They assume most users won't notice as they won't go over this. And if they do, they can make a huge profit as someone above said by charging like £4 p/ mb over.
They classify it as unlimited, as they "claim" that 500mb is far more than "most" users will ever need in a month. And they are most likely correct in this. Most people won't go over 500mb a month by just checking facebook etc. It's only if you are frequently streaming video's, online radio or just very heavy use.
According to o2 (I thought i'd quote them since Tesco is over their network)
"Every 500MB of UK data will allow you to (approx):
Send 500,000 emails, without attachments
or send 1,000 emails, with photos attached
or visit 5,000 simple sites, like Twitter or your favourite blog
or visit 1,500 rich content sites, like bbc.co.uk, guardian.co.uk or yahoo.co.uk
or download 50 (low quality) or 12 (high quality) music tracks
or watch 60 YouTube videos, about 4.5 minutes long"
What phone do you have and what will you use it for... because if its an iphone or android device, id recommend staying well clear of 500mb tarrifs. These phones are built for using the web. As I said, most users won't go over but it very much depends on the individuals usage.
Personally, I'd advise you do the same as me.... Giff Gaffs (who offer completely limitless data) summer sale ends on the 6th of September (I think) whereas this deal expires on the 10th of October. Therefore, i'm gonna wait to see if giff gaff keep their summer sale prices ongoing or match this or whatever, and if not consider which I prefer. There's no point rushing into it, as either deals going nowhere for a few days at least by which point we should know much more...
Hope this helps

1) Calls to voicemail will not be charged extra but will be deducted from your inclusive mins and anything over the inclusive mins will be charged at 10p /min
2) Users going above the 500mb data will not be charged immediately at £4 per mb but Tesco will monitor those persistent users with high usage and deal with them on a case by case basis.
What utter carp.
Thanks for your constructive comment. The date the deal ends IS important, perhaps to people who have a contract ending soon. No need to be so agressive just cause you can't read.
Go to bed. Things will be better in the morning.
I've recently started with Tesco on a PAYG mobile, and signed up for their unlimited data add-on for £2 a week. There is a fair usage policy, which is 100MB per week but this is not stated in the T&C's on their website. My iPhone 4 sucked over 100MB of data in 5 days (Gods knows how, and I wasn't leaving apps multi-tasking on it and using it on my home broadband wifi in the evenings, yet it was still downloading 3G data behind my back) so what did Tesco do? They automatically charged £4 PER MB for using any data over 100MB.
Limited + extortionate charges upon exceeding the limit = "Tesco Unlimited" so just be aware that they may well charge the same for people going over their 500MB 'unlimited' allowance.
On the plus side, Tesco re-credited me in full when I phoned them up to find out where all my PAYG credit had gone. They offered to re-imburse the charges to me without me even asking as soon as the iPhone 4 was mentioned.

Spoke to cs earlier and that's what they suggested
6. Unlimited Inclusive Credit
6.1 Unlimited Inclusive Credit may be available on selected tariffs. Where Unlimited Inclusive Credit is available we may impose an upper limit on the amount of Inclusive Credit that can be used without further charge. Any such limit will be clearly set out on tescomobile.com or in any marketing materials and will only be imposed to prevent atypical use and/or abuse.
6.2 Unlimited Inclusive Credit is subject to the following fair usage policy which includes, but is not limited to use by you (or any third party permitted by you):
(i) for auto delivery, continuing or extensive call forwarding, telemarketing solicitation, polling, fax or voicemail broadcasting.
(ii) of the Tesco Mobile Network for commercial purposes;
(iii) which we reasonably believe impacts the service of other customers or may adversely affect the Network;
(iv) which we reasonably believe excessively or continually exceeds any upper limit which is imposed;
6.3 We reserve the right to monitor your usage and, if we reasonably determine that your use is abusive or in breach of our fair usage policy, we may do any or all of the following:
(i) request you to moderate your use;
(ii) impose further charges in respect of your atypical or abusive use; or
(iii) transfer you to a tariff that does not include Inclusive Credit.
6.4. Where abuse or breach is suspected, we will endeavour to contact you before taking action in accordance with paragraph 6.2. In the case of severe abuse, as reasonably determined by us, we reserve the right to suspend your use of the Tesco Mobile Pay monthly service or end your service agreement, having attempted to contact you first.

It means that £13.35 is what they could have charged you... but it's all inclusive of your package, so you pay noithign additionally.
It means that if you had to pay for your calls,,txts and data,,thats the price you would have to pay
I have used mms and was charged 25p.
1. Voicemail is taken out of your monthly allowance
2. MMS is not included and is charged at 25p per message
Regarding billing and allowances, the situation is as follows (based on my dates):
1. Ordered on the 15th September (date irrelevant)
2. Activated on the 17th September
3. Billing date 9th October (21 days after activation)
Month 1 - 17th September to 8th October
Month 2 - 9th October to 8th November
Month 3 - 9th November to 8th December
Your billing date is 21 days after the date which you activate the sim card.
At the end of the first month any unused allowance will rollover into the second month
At the end of the second month any used allowance will be lost and your allowances will reset to the standard amount (500mins, unlimited texts and data)
Hope that helps
I just rang up and asked for that deal - she said no problem... I think she said it would run for about another week too.
No, offer ends 10 October.
No problems here... there was no way they were going to match the Tesco deal. My number should go from O2 to Tesco's tomorrow.
You can port the number over at any time but you will have to pay the £10 for two months.
Will watch with interest to see if it changes to £10.........
Could be wrong though so fingers crossed this comes out as it will blow every other sim only deal out of the water!
Confirmation of some sort would allow me to hold off from taking the vodafone cashback deal which expires tonight at midnight :s
