I'm up in arks about this. Is it really going to be worth this price just for a ps5 upgrade? Love the game but might wait until it gets sub £20 I think
    Dantess's avatar
Well it depends what you see as an upgrade. It's a remake, the game remade using everything ND have used and implemented since Uncharted 4 and The Last Of Us 2, its not just a port or remaster like the PS4 edition was.

So graphically it is enhanced, but it's also got the refined combat, AI and animation on par with TLOU part 2. Up to you to decide if it's worth the price.

As much as I like this game I won't support it day one no one asked for it , I already have it on PS3 and ps4 this is basically the same game on a new engine , this was unnecessary I'd buy it when it's £15 or less I already played it many times...
    81980085's avatar
Yes, this deal should be called "Remaster" instead of "Remake". Remaster usually means the same game assets being rendered with better resolution and frame rate. Remake implies everything was redone, e.g. like Demons Souls or Resident Evil 2.

EDIT: I spoke too soon. It does look more like a "Remake" after watching some more of it. (edited)

It's £70 'digitally'. Gotta laugh at you lot who purposely leavs that out on your price bashing it'll easily be closer to £50 come launch for physical.
    johnboylan12's avatar
Because £50 for a 10 year old game is better treatment of their customers, is it? (edited)
  4. Axius's avatar
I wondered why they were remaking it, but then I saw at the end 'Also coming to PC', so, I guess they're remaking it for PC but also releasing on PS5.

Your last point is why they will never release them same day. Imagine saying 'Here, pay £70 for this new game that looks and plays better on PC...oh, and is also cheaper.' They are also not going to risk selling less consoles, which you admit will happen.
  5. Gohan_dbz's avatar
    Is this the 2nd remake?
    Spark's avatar
It's the first. The ps4 version was remaster.
  6. WhaleTrain's avatar
Far more reasonable price for this - shame on Sony (as per usual) for charging through the nose.
  7. teddy1590's avatar
I really struggle to see much of an upgrade, even when viewing a side by aide comparison. Of course watching it on YouTube will lower the quality a bit, but I still cannot fathom how Sony feel they can charge £70 for what appears to be an upgrade to textures and lighting with a few gameplay tweaks. £35 would have been far more reasonable.

I was planning to do a replay of both games again at some point, so I'll likely rent this, but no way would I pay more than £20 for this given the PS4 remaster still holds up.
  8. Spark's avatar
This should really be a £10 upgrade in the same way that Uncharted 4 was earlier this year or at, the very most, a £30 RRP game like SotC 2018 etc. There really is no justification for charging £70 for this.
    Lococol's avatar
People will pay initially. That is their reasoning I should imagine. This will soon be a £20 game. I will get it on PC but I won't pay over £10. I have already bought it twice.
  9. PiratePirate's avatar
This price point Sony are hellbent on normalizing, coupled with rising energy prices, petrol prices and the general cost of living just shows how necessary regional purchasing is, for a lot of gamers to keep up with the medium.

I know no one is forced to buy a new game but £70 for a game now on its 3rd iteration in less than a decade is obscene.

I know the difference between remaster/remake but I don't care. This will be the same experience we had in 2013, just better looking, by current standards.
    johnboylan12's avatar
We can hope it will be the same experience, but don't be surprised if there are some 'stunning and brave' additions.
  10. DevilWithin's avatar
They can shove this game. TLoU Remastered still holds up perfectly fine both in gameplay and graphics.
    Owens93's avatar
It really doesn't though. The gameplays pretty terrible compared to part 2.
  11. hughrocksyo's avatar
Instant purchase for this price! I've been meaning to replay Part 2 and can't decide whether to do that now to hype me up or play it after the remake!
  12. rizzo777's avatar
They should of put part 1 and 2 together honestly sony are so greedy
  13. BluesFanUK's avatar
Masterpiece, but why on earth is this even getting a remake? It's less than 10 years old, and graphically it still holds up quite well today. Very bizarre project for ND to be working on
  14. carddealer's avatar
And I thought that developers were milking it when I saw the original Doom from 1993 was still being sold on the PS and Xbox stores!
Admittedly that game is a few pounds, but come on, £70 is silly. (edited)
    Spark's avatar
£70 is the price for a brand new and big budget AAA game on PS5 and XSX in the UK but this isn't that so far as I'm concerned. It's a remake of part of a 2013 game that didn't even cost 70 quid when it first released 9 years ago.
  15. mike279's avatar
So, is this an actual remake? As in they have coded the character models, levels, weapons, animations, AI, recaptured motion capture, and recorded new audio from scratch? Or is this just a £70 remastered-remaster?
    carddealer's avatar

    Replying to

Be interesting to see if player experience has been brought up to modern-day standards - playing TLOU now seems a little 'clunky' for want of a better word in comparison to more recent games.
  16. KRIS.DEE's avatar
I love the game but £69.99 for this is crazy.
Remake like this should cost $39.99/£35.99 just like Mafia Definitive Edition.
Or at least they should offer upgrade option for people who own Remaster on PS4.
  17. dbibby1988's avatar
Am I the only one thinking this has already been remastered or am I going insane? (edited)
    Spark's avatar

    Replying to

That one was an exceptional case because it skipped a remaster and went straight to a full remake. Probably because the original version was a total mess in the first place.
  18. ColdUSAScams's avatar
Reasonable price instead of 70 bucks for it. So it comes out on PS3, PS4 and now PS5. Why does Skyrim get the hate?
    Spark's avatar
And GTA V despite the fact that recent remaster was discounted for the first 3 months.
  19. Sardonicus's avatar
Ridiculous price, cheers Joey. Heat added.

Ah yes, the old they did it, so it's ok for me to argument.

People that say this sentiment are just as bad .as the people they are complaining about. (edited)

That's quite a price. See you in 2 years.
  22. Lashley's avatar
    Much better price!

Going to wait for the PC version, but I've voted hot
  23. X-Cell's avatar
I relented I bought this although I was surprised to find it had gone up to 799 TL!

FYI price via crypo.com came to £37.87

Yes Sony have put the price of a lot of games up by 100TL in the past few days
  24. FinalBoss's avatar
If I have never added a crypti card to my turkey ps account, can I do this?
    NeoGamaes's avatar
Sure. Use crypto.com. works fine. 10min for the whole process. Few hours to get the virtual card available.
I top up with my Revolut account (£20 minimum)
  25. Heazy's avatar
Whilst I think Sony will offer a fraction of a discount with PS Plus Deluxe subs, you're just not going to get it this low anywhere else on day one.

And given they've opened pre-orders, I can't see them adding this to the PS+ Collection until March at the earliest - probably June to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of TLOU.
  26. chris88's avatar
Decent price but are they seriously charging £70 for this in the UK? Doesn't even come with the muliplayer mode

Something's defenitly up, when the only reasonable price is a UK tax evasion deal.

This should have just been DLC for part 2.

Shame on Sony and naughty dog. (edited)
  28. sJohnson23's avatar
I remember Virtua Racing on the Mega Drive being £70. Yes, it was a special cartridge but ultimately there's been a market for people willing to pay that amount of money for games for a long, long time.
  29. carddealer's avatar
There will be a whole new market of gamers who have never played either of TLOU games and we know it's going to be a top class experience in gameplay and now in terms of graphics and 3D sound etc.

I wonder if the sales of the Uncharted 4 remake were sufficiently high that Sony have been enticed into charging £70 for this to see if they can get away with it? (edited)
    nickroll's avatar
Uncharted 4 wasn't a remake. The better comparison is Demon's Souls which is also a remake of a PS3 game at the same price point and was well received
  30. diddytitz's avatar
Shocking, q remake of a ps4 remake of a ps3 game. I wish they would just make new games instead of remakes.
  31. QUICKRICH26's avatar
One of the best games ever shame the 2nd one was quite poor story wise. I guess they aim to milk the first one with the TV show coming out also.
  32. frish's avatar
I'll prob get it once it releases on PC and the price tanks. Gonna pretend the 2nd one doesn't exist.
  33. Daniel_M's avatar
The description is confusing... first you say you can add CryptoPay.me to PSN then you say you can't...
  34. Justsuperman's avatar
I want this remake but £40 is my poi t
  35. Transmat's avatar
What's the price in the UK then? Sony are trying to outdo Nintendo in the taking-their-customers-for-utter-mugs stakes. Laughable.
  36. tr0r's avatar
I'm waiting to see what the actual maps are like. I know they wont change the main story, but are the levels themselves oging to be exact replicas with more plants, or are they going to make adjustments and add new side areas etc?
  37. dannyblind's avatar
Managed to secure a copy (not sure if i keep it yet) for £53 just before the price went up
